Cigar of the Month Club Video Review: August 2023

With summer in full swing, our Experts assembled five premiums which while unapologetically bold, remain abundantly complex in flavor profile. And while the days are longer, make sure to take advantage of the extra sunshine as nearly all cigars featured this month are large formats.

Our featured selection is the 92-rated Rocky Patel Vintage ’90, whose noteworthy, well-aged tobaccos have resulted in it twice been named to Cigar Aficionado’s illustrious Top 25 List. The CAO Bx3 succinctly describes its key blend components, which in this case are three different strains of Brazilian tobacco. Given the bold leaves chosen for Diesel Heart of Darkness, AJ Fernandez had to roll this blend with a large ring gauge to not sacrifice complexity among its strength. The brainchild of the Master himself, E.P. Carrillo INCH Natural celebrates the ability to house more tobacco inside a larger ring gauge, resulting in an experience far more unique than the norm. And finally, Nica Libre Silver 25th Anniversary debuted to celebrate 25 years of Nicaraguan independence, and this commemorative premium while bold is still smooth and refined from start to finish.
