One of my new favorites. Easy to smoke. Goes well with a nice Bourbon. A flavor somewhere between mild and bold.

The Heart of Darkness Gordo is one of my favorite Diesel cigars. The size helps deliver a great smoke. The full bodied strength is not over bearing, the draw is easy and the construction is great. Just what we should expect from a Diesel Cigar. Enjoy

First off, one can't go wrong with AJ Fernandez! This is quite a large cigar which has a nice initial peppery zip thst fades to chared wood and leather. [Tastes are subjective] The size and dark wrapper color would make you think it as a very bold cigar. Not so, as it yields a balanced medium smoke with a very good draw. Excellent for medium to full body lovers.

Very nice construction and burn - flavor is nice but not great. Strength leaves me wanting - Not nearly as full flavored - full strength as I hoped for after all the hype. Very good smoke - not great! A little disappointed in AJ as he has a lot of cigars labeled "Full" when in reality they are medium- medium full. This is one of them. My idea of "Full" is Oliva Serie V - Master Blends lll - or Oliva Cain F-550. This is not that but a very good smoke none the less. I would buy them again IF they are on sale...otherwise I prefer Diesel Ruination - all variations or Man O War Puro Authentico.

Draw and smoke are great. Flavor doesn’t suit my pallet. Not bad just prefer other profiles.

It is Diesel’s best cigar

Little nervous about trying this one due to the name. Very pleasantly surprised by this flavor bomb. To me it seemed a little less strong than the original Diesel and the Nicaraguan ligero more the dominant flavor. A slow even burn was good for 2 hours, and I generally smoke cigars fast.

I'm new to the cigar world. I enjoyed these very much. Burned good, easy draw. I will buy again.

Alright, I have to say so far the beast and the best of Diesel!!! So smoke is absolutely grand! It is about an hour to hour half smoke. Depending on if you cut or punch. In this case I have cut and love the full flavor! The box they come in is just great. The smoke itself has a smoke in itself, you just have to experience yourself to understand. The burn ring is great and no cracking in the outer wrap. I have met the gentlemen in person who owns this company in Greenville, NC. Everything I have bought from the company will for now on have my business. Gentlemen/ Ladies... this is by for a great smoke!! Please enjoy for a full flavor smoke at its finest! Very good cigar

GREAT DEALS! GREAT CIGARS! But, they are in transit for 7 to10 days from store to my humidor, they arrive dry and have to sit in my humidor for a couple weeks, NOW IM LOOKING AT 3 WEEKS before I can enjoy my spoils...

I've been a huge AJ fan since day one. Over the last 10 years, I've smoked literally thousands of his cigars. Diesel has been my go to for years. (unlimited, rage, wicked, etc) I had never tried the Heart of Darkness. Then along comes a great sale from Cigar.com and I jumped in with both feet. Based on some of the reviews here, and just using my imagination (based on prior Diesel versions) to try and figure out what these would taste like. I way under estimated how absolutely delicious these would be. This review should be taken lightly, because it's based on a sample of one, fresh off the truck. First, the wrappers are gorgeous. Some slightly darker than others, but all with a nice deep, rich color and an oily sheen. Very well made. Firm and uniform construction. Excellent draw, very even burn, leaving a solid, pretty white ash. The flavor profile is Diesel perfection. Take the Unlimited, Wicked, and Rage, add a bit of oomph, and a few extra layers of complexity, and voila, the Heart of Darkness says hello. I was very impressed with the initial spice and even more impressed with how the cigar developed more and more flavor as I smoked it. I'm so blown away with flavor and construction, I'm going to nub this one for sure. Don't know how the next one will be, but if it's as good as this first one, I'm in trouble. I can say that so far, even though I absolutely love 95% of what AJ makes, specially the Diesel line, this one is the King of the Fernandez Empire. Why it took me so long to try these, I have no idea. No one else in the business today has the aging, blending, or rolling skills that AJF does. That of course is just this guy's opinion. To say I'm a fan is an understatement. All Hail AJF and thanks for the great sale Cigar.com. Again folks, sample of one. Where we go from here, who knows?? AJ is very good at staying consistent, so I'm feeling good about the rest of my purchase. Sorry for the long review. I can't help myself.

I bought this on a sale, as sort of an afterthought. I figured I would try it out and share the first smoke with a friend. We both were very surprised. This has quickly become both of our all-time favorites and am ordering another box for the future.

This cigar was an afterthought purchase. Maybe a package deal, I don't recall. I smoked one without much thought and it really caught my attention. This is a really well made cigar with a rich and balanced flavor. I love the rich dark flavor. I'm definitely going to stock these for regular rotation.

Rich. Creamy. Smoky. So good! Not for the faint of heart (but the faint of heart should not be smoking anyway).

If you like full bodied cigars, put these on your list. They are in my top five.

A another great cigar from AJ and his diesel brand.... It's fits well of the catalog, unholy cocktail, hair of the dog, Rage, uncut(both types). Rich and dark smoke. It'sstarts out strong and finishes even stronger without being snarky.......

Great solid smoke.you get hints of pepper and earth for the first 1/3 and after that it really opens up full throttle with the pepper mellowing out with a blast of leather, earth and espresso with some spice on the lip very enjoyable only experienced aficionado's so be warned.

I received the H of D as an add-on to my normal Diesel order. I have to save, I am very pleased with the cigar. It could easily become my favorite in the Diesel line. Unfortunately, at the going rate per cigar, I'll have to grab it with samplers when available.

Good smoke output, I'd call it a solid medium body with with medium strength IMO. As for flavors...I'll have to smoke another as I was talking and not really paying too close of attention to dissecting flavors. Enjoyable nonetheless. First impression after toasting was that I'd likely enjoy it, I'll smoke another and if I have time and/or rememb to, I'll update or wrote another review, regardless, out of my sample size of one, I'd not think twice of reaching for one again.

I had been wanting to try the Diesel brand. I ordered the five pack when they included the free Bugatti lighter. Excellent lighter! Received both in excellent condition, as usual when I have ordered from here. I put them in my humidor to hang out for a bit. I will be a Diesel fan for life. Now I know what all the hype is about Diesel. Try 'em you'll be glad you did!!!

This is one of the best cigars that I have tried. The flavor is awesome. I would recommend this one to everybody.

I had been wanting to try the Diesel brand for a while. I ordered a 5-pack which included a Bugatti lighter. Shipping was prompt and cigars were fresh with no damage, lighter works like a champ. I enjoy the cigars which are on the med.-full strength side. I am glad that I ordered the Heart of Darkness, I will be sure to have Diesel in my humidor as one of my regular sticks. I have had this cigar in my humidor for a while. This is my first Diesel. A very good smoke with an even burn. After this one, I will restock with more.

excellent choice! very smooth, lots of flavor. Would easily become my everyday smoke except for the price. i'll stick to Shorty's and keep this for special occasions.

Bought a couple singles of these as I always look forward to a Diesel product. The construction and feel of the cigar is what you have come to expect from this brand. No visible imperfections to the wrapper and a solid feel. The burn has been nice and even with no need for touch ups. The flavor started off a little harsh and I was thinking it would be a dud, however by the time I got to the first tap in the ash tray it had really smoothed out and you can start to taste a salty wood flavor. 1 star reduction as they showed up really hard and dry, but just a week or two in the humidor and it evened out. Definitely suggest letting it sit for a week before lighting.

I'm a huge diesel fan and currently having the heart of darkness as I write this review and of course any diesel never fails but this one? WOW
