Cigar of the Month Club Video Review: February 2024

As consumers become more educated on the art of the cigar, their tastes become more discerning. This of course puts the pressure on manufacturers to deliver increasingly more with each new release. For this reason we have dubbed this month’s selection “Great Expectations,” for each of the featured premiums came with exactly that.

La Palina 1948 was a collaboration between La Palina and Oliva to mark Bill Paley’s 75th birthday. Featuring illustrations of Estelí and Manhattan as they appeared in 1948, as well as an image of Paley during his service in Vietnam. Debuting in 2019, Blind Man’s Bluff Maduro is the second line extension within the Blind Man’s Bluff portfolio, and the first of these cigars rolled at Tabacalera Wm. Ventura in the Dominican. Marking their first major milestone, the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Box-Pressed Sun Grown is draped in a wrapper which aged for 10 months in an ex-bourbon barrel. 2022 saw the resurrection of this brand which traces its roots back to 1940s Cuba, with the new Los Statos Deluxe spearheaded by Matt Booth of Room101. Rolled at the same factory which produces CAO, Partagás Cortado is the historic brand’s first line to crafted in Nicaragua.
