Cigar of the Month Club Video Review: April 2023

The first nationally distributed 6.0”x60 cigar was released in 2001, turning the industry on its head. Larger ring gauges are no longer dismissed as a fad, and they’re instead praised for greater blend diversity and prolonged enjoyment. In this month’s selection we’re dubbing “Bigger Rings for Spring,” we encourage you to savor the extra sunlight, warmer temperatures, and of course your cigars!

A former LE only available in specific stores, the Illusione Cigares Privé Corojo went national in 2016. (Cigares Privé is French for “private cigars.”) Given the precise execution of flavor shifts, it’s the work of a true master craftsman. An ambitious limited release debuting in 2015, Caldwell The Last Tsar marked the boutique brand’s first anniversary. An artist’s portrait of Tsar Nicholas II adorns the band, which lays atop a unique wrapper. Making Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 of 2017, AJ Fernandez’s New World Puro Especial is a love letter to his adopted hometown of Estelí, Nicaragua. Diesel Unlimited, the second blend released by AJ within the Diesel portfolio, is heralded by its maker as one of his best. Rich in history and flavor, the ‘90’-rated Bolivar is a classic cigar suited for all any time of day.
