Flavorful Firecrackers.
My my my, there's a new Mi Querida in town and it's a masterpiece. First released by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust in 2016, Mi Querida, which translates to My Mistress, is brand founder Steve Saka's love letter to Broadleaf and was created to be the best representation of pure cigar enjoyment. Job well done, and with the line's latest release, the enjoyment is escalated to a whole new higher level.
Mi Querida Triqui Traca is, according to Saka, “arguably our boldest... to date”. Named after the Nicaraguan term for firecrackers that are tied together and tossed around during celebrations and special events, Triqui Traca is the perfect branding for this knee-bending blend that's as full-bodied as the come. Based on the original Mi Querida recipe, two key components have been incorporated in the new release that bring bigger, brighter flavors to the forefront. First, the wrapper, while still a Connecticut Broadleaf, is from a higher-priming on the tobacco plant. Darker, thicker, with more oils and tooth; this leaf introduces a lot of lively elements to the profile. Additionally, full-tilt Dominican Ligeros are combined with the same Nicaraguan long-fillers from the original Mi Querida, creating a spicier, sweeter, more savory experience. Saka elaborates on the effect the new ingredients have: "...(Triqui Traca) retains (its predecessor's) inherent sweet loam and chocolate characteristics, yet delivers a significantly heavier smoking experience... denser, heavier, chewier."
