An essential aficionado blend...
Macanudo introduced the world to its first Vintage cigar nearly 40 years ago. Since then, the titular brand has released countless show-stopping blends, while also upholding the Vintage tradition with pride.
Part of what makes Vintage so special is the well-aged, premium tobaccos used in its creation. The meaning of the term "vintage" here doesn't entirely refer to age, but rather the perfect conditions during a specific year's growing season. Back in 2010, the Connecticut River Valley saw its hottest temperatures in a quarter-century. Combined with extremely high humidity and large amounts of precipitation, the tobaccos were able to grow to their fullest potential. This is where the incredibly silky Shade-Grown wrapper was born, and Vintage 2010 gets its name.
With Vintage 2010, a 10-year aged Connecticut Shade wrapper covers a Honduran binder, and a long-filler blend containing 5-year-aged Honduran, 3-year-aged Nicaraguan, and a proprietary Dominican strain General Cigar dubbed Piloto Cubano 94. After aging the wrapper for 11 years prior to rolling, the exceptional blend comes together to be both creamy and mellow on the palate. Expect notes of wood, vanilla, coffee, and leather, and finishing with a floral quality.
