Thoroughly aged, distinctively smooth.
Celebrated for its subtle body and mellow flavor, as well as its incomparable consistency - Macanudo Cafe is one of the top-selling cigar brands in the U.S.
Since its inception, this beloved cigar brand has taken up permanent residence in humidors everywhere due to its unparalleled construction and pleasantly mellow taste. General Cigar originally made Macanudo in Jamaica, but due to the adverse conditions moved production to the Dominican Republic, where it remains to this day.
Combining a Connecticut Shade wrapper, Dominican fillers, and a unique binder grown in the San Andrés Valley of Mexico, the Macanudo is fairly straight-forward and light in flavor with a very short finish. Macanudo is the cigar that put General Cigar Co. on the map, and has led to their unprecedented success. Still on top as the best-seller, the name Macanudo is one of the most recognizable in world. Nowhere else can such consistency be found in a cigar. This blend is ideal for those enthusiasts who are just getting started or those veterans who don’t like an overwhelming level of flavor or body.
If I had to use one word to describe my overall impression of this smoke it would be "bitter". I was not a fan of the flavor. Positives were that it burned well and evenly, produced good smoke, but the taste was simply lacking for me.
Indulging in this stick for the first time after smoking a local Oldsmar house brand earlier in the day the first thing that came to mind was the old adage "you get what you pay for" after the very first draw. The second thing was "I wish I had ordered a larger stick".Consistently smooth from beginning to end this Cigar was worth every penny and better still it was not that expensive. I highly recommend this mild brand for experienced smokers and especially for begginers. 4.5 out of 5 stars!
A very light favor, I thought this would be a great introductory cigar
I was looking for a quick morning cigar. This was not it. Lots of beautiful smoke and even burn, but the little flavor it had was chemical and bitter.
I had smoked some cheap macanudo cigars years ago, and saw some good things written in cigar.com's catalog about these being popular, so i decided to try one - it looks the part, and the smoke was plentiful but the cigar did not burn consistently even. I had problems when I would flick my ash off with it burning at different rates down the sides and an odd forming ash compared to my preferred brands (CAO Gold & 5 Vegas Gold).
This cigar had an odd brown tinge to the ash (which was disgusting, most my other sticks burn a pure white), and was more medium than mild for my taste - I'm glad I only added one to my last order instead of selecting a 5 bundle or sampler. At about $1 more than I would usually be spending on my regular cigar, it's safe to say I won't be buying this one again.
Overrated smoke, to put it simple. When I first got into smoking cigars I tought this was the best thing since sliced bread, but after broadening my reach to more and less expensive cigars, I found this to be overpriced. For much less money there are many cigars that out-did the Macanudo, and were much larger at that. I recommend trying a 5 Vegas Classic in the robusto size, you save over a dollar on every stick and they are much more smooth and flavorful. Not worth the pricetag in my opinion. For any of them.
Very good for the novice smoker. Easy draw-not overly strong. Also the price is right and i recommend to anybody.
Incredible tasting smoke with carmel undertowns, smooth even draw, I will re order another box
Very good short smoke. Very smooth
This is without a doubt my favorite. Every time someone asks to try one, they comment on how much they enjoy the flovor and smoothness. This cigar is highly recommended!
just finished my first. great mild cigar. no aftertaste at all. it draws well and burns evenly. this is definitely one of my favorites. its is excellent for 3/4 of the way. then it gets pretty hot. recommend to all.
