Hoy de Monterrey is once again collaborating with AJ Fernandez for Hoyo La Amistad Black—the third installment in the Hoyo La Amistad line. This collaboration is especially near and dear to AJ, as he grew up near the Hoyo de Monterrey factory in Cuba.
AJ was challenged with creating a cigar that held true to Hoyo’s traditional nuances while ensuring his signature touches weren’t lost, and what he produced is nothing shy of spectacular. The blend is wrapped in a well-aged Ecuador Sumatra Oscuro leaf with Nicaraguan Habano long-fillers beneath.
Easily Hoyo La Amistad’s boldest cigar, it may also be its most complex with notes of leather, baking spices, some red pepper spice, and hints of natural tobacco. Classic yet modern, Hoyo La Amistad Black is a must-try.
