H. Upmann honors cigar history.
H. Upmann is one of the best-known and oldest names in cigars. Founded in Cuba in 1844 this popular version, now produced in the Dominican Republic, remains a best-seller among the industry's prominent enthusiasts, and with a '93' rating, it's clear to see why.
Produced and distributed by Altadis U.S.A., makers of such premium brands as Romeo y Julieta and Montecristo, each H. Upmann undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure each cigar sent to retail shelves will have a great burn, flavor, and draw every time. H. Upmann cigars are known for being extremely dependable and consistent.
H. Upmann 1844 Reserve produces a full-bodied character due to its tri-country long-filler blend of Peruvian, Nicaraguan, and Dominican leaves. To add some complexity and subtle sweetness, a US Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro binder was added to the mix. Atop that, you'll find a seamless, beautiful-looking Ecuador Sumatra wrapper that presents a red hue and offers added depth. The result creates ample flavor that's elegant and smooth, while the construction of the cigar and quality of the tobaccos remains flawless.
Ok, nothing special. Wrapper flaking on the head sort of ruined the experience for me.
Great cigar. Enjoyed it on the deck on a nice evening. Good burn, easy draw, wrapper defects though. Will come back for more.
