Q & A: The importance of a Torcedor(a)

Q.
Why are some cigars plugged and unsmokable?

9/20/06 | by SY of Modesto, CA

A.
In a plugged cigar, if the tobacco was properly handled, cured and fermented, the problem lies in the construction. The skill and craft of a Torcedor (cigar roller) is one of the most important stages in making a cigar. Everything, from growing to fermenting can be ruined if a cigar is not properly made. The outcome of a cigar is completely with the roller in this stage of the production process. Although the tobacco is crucial, how the cigar is rolled is the last and most important factor that determines how a cigar will smoke.
