Spotlight Brand: Rocky Patel Signature Series

Signature from Rocky Patel

A high quality, mellow-bodied Connecticut from Rocky Patel.

Rocky Patel's answer to other super-premium Connecticuts like Davidoff or Ashton, Signature Series is limited based on the amount of A1 Connecticut Ecuadorian wrapper available for harvest each year. Rocky Patel built his brands around quality and never rushes production, which is why these cigars are only sold to a select group of merchants across the globe.

Rocky Patel Signature Series is an excellent choice for the mellow to medium-bodied smoker. Rocky is a man dedicated to quality. He puts all of his cigars through rigorous tests to ensure each stick burns properly, has a perfect draw, and tastes exactly the same. Due to his dedication to quality assurance, Rocky has earned countless awards and is considered one of the top cigar manufacturers in the business.

Signature Series is simply an excellent cigar. Its mix of Central American fillers produces a rich flavor that is complex, releasing an exuberant amount of different aromas and flavors that taste of toasted cedar mixed with cashews and almonds. This is one cigar that is very smooth with a buttery and creamy texture, and is extremely pleasant with an almost perfect finish. Rocky Patel Signature Series will fail to disappoint any enthusiast. Try one, you'll love it!

Q & A: The Effect of Packaging On Price?

Q.
I see some brands have extravagant packaging. How much does that affect the cost of a cigar?

3/11/08 | by MM of Yakima, WA

A.
When developing a price structure to sell a particular cigar, there are many factors that must be examined before a standard MSRP can be created. Some factors that attribute to the total MSRP include the price of tobacco, laborers, cost of running facilities, and packaging. Typically, the way each brand of cigars is packaged and presented does drastically affect the total outcome of the MSRP. Of course, the cost of the tobacco is the biggest expense, hands down, but any cigars that utilize special packaging will definitely be more expensive than others. Manufacturers producing more premium, higher end cigars tend use more extravagant packaging simply because it makes the cigar look more credible while also providing the consumer with an elegant package that truly does make you feel good about your purchase. Plus, nice packaging looks fantastic and can sometimes be a collector's item. Regardless, cigar smoking is an art form and creating an expensive box is an art in itself. To some, paying the extra money for a cigar that comes packaged in ivory is exactly what completes the entire experience. For others, finding quality cigars in simple packaging at inexpensive prices is preferred.
