Like most finer things, cigars improve with age. During the rolling process, various strands and tobacco leaves are blended together to give each cigar its unique flavor and aroma. It is at this time that the marriage process begins. As the cigars start to age, the oils from different leaves begin to marry together. It is a continuous process which over time improves the stability and complex subtleties of the smoke. Proper aging requires a highly accurate climate, precise timing, and a great deal of patience. Cigar.com’s aging room takes all the work out of aging for you, bringing you finely aged cigars ready to smoke!

The date listed on the items below represent the estimated boxing date. Some cigar manufacturers will typically age their tobacco to varying degrees after the fermentation process prior to rolling. For example, a Macanudo Vintage 1997 may have a boxing date of 2004. This indicates that the manufacturer used 1997 aged tobacco and rolled the cigar closer to the boxing date.

These particular VSG cigars, called "rounds," were among the first 50,000 sticks produced back in 1999. Ashton VSG was the first box-pressed brand the Fuentes attempted to create. In the process of rolling the first batch, they quickly realized that the cigars were over filled and were not smokable when pressed. This forced Ashton to release the first 50,000 cigars in the parejo (round) shape. These cigars are extremely rare and sought out as collectors items.

Bolivar DaVinci comes cloaked in a dark Ecuadorian-grown Sumatra wrapper. This wrapper conceals a well-aged mix of Nicaraguan long leaves all bound with a tasty Nicaraguan binder. The result creates a full-bodied experience with many competing nuances of white pepper and cedar with underlying sweet nuances. Aging since 2002, expect an amazingly smooth finish with a well-balanced character from head to foot. To guarantee authenticity, each box comes labeled with Bolivar's code, 7DP, which signifies the cigars were packaged in the Dominican Republic in June 2001. These sticks have been patiently aging in our humidor since 2002 and come encased in protective glass tubes.

CAO Gold 10th Anniversary (2005)
CAO released this cigar in 2005 to celebrate ten successful years in the cigar industry. Upon their release, we bought as many as we could, sold some, and put the rest in our humidor, where they have been patiently aging ever since. The blend consists of long leaf, Nicaraguan tobaccos bound by a gorgeous Connecticut wrapper. The result is a mild cigar, one that is very smooth due to its age and produces toasty notes of cedar with a small amount of sweetness noticeable in the finish.

As one of the premier purveyors of luxury items for men, the Dunhill brand has a strong reputation built on the exclusivity of its products. Signed Range was blended to appeal to enthusiasts who enjoy the quality of a premium Dunhill cigar but want more flavor and strength. The cigar has sold so well, that in 2006, Dunhill had to reblend it as they used most of the aged tobaccos required to make the original recipe. Cigar.com is fortunate to have a small supply of boxes in our aging room from 2004 when these cigars were at the top of their game.

Vintage 2002 contains the same exact blend as the award winning Gran Habano Corojo #5, utilizing premium long leaves grown in the most fertile regions of Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. However, Vintage sports a beautiful, oily Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper from 2002 which creates ample spice mixed with earthy sensations. Don't fret, with 7 years of age under its belt this blend remains smooth and creamy from start to finish with thick, hearty flavors of nuts and earth masked with an underlying coffee-like sweetness. A fantastic well-aged cigar.
