The darkest, most full-flavored Partagas to date.
The Partagas name is among the most famous and recognizable cigar names in the world. With a rich history more than 169 years old, the brand first got its start as a Cuban premium and is now made in the Dominican Republic. The introduction of the bold Partagas 1845 line made a huge splash in the industry.
Taking things up a notch once again, the brand new Partagas 1845 Extra Oscuro is meticulously crafted using an oily, sun drenched, Oscuro wrapper, bound in an earthy Vega Especiale binder, and blended with barrel aged ligeros from the Dominican, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Expect a full-bodied cigar with a rich leathery core, notes of espresso, black pepper, and a naturally sweet tobacco flavor on the finish.
Definitely full bodied, dark and leathery as advertised. Also a very good looking cigar for what that's worth but had some issues: 1) tight draw 2) continuous need to re-light and 3) burn inconsistencies. I tried 2 of a 5 pack and am now leaving the other 3 to age a bit in the humidor in the hope that could help clear some or the all of the issues. Will try the remaining 3 at 3, 6 and 12 months.
