We’re incredibly honored to bring you a brand we guarantee you’ll enjoy. From the makers of Pinar del Rio comes Sol Cubano—one won’t find a better value in cigars anywhere.
Packed full of Nicaraguan ligero Criollo, Nicaraguan seco Criollo, and Dominican long leaves with Dominican Habano binders, all masked with Ecuadorian Habano wrappers, Sol Cubano reminds us of AJ Fernandez, Rocky Patel, and Don Pepín García blends all rolled into one cigar. You’ll pick up rich nuances with enjoyable notes of spice while the smooth finish leaves you licking your lips and craving more. Finally, a premium truly crafted for the everyday cigar guru.
Unique as unique comes! While still offering the same Nicaraguan and Dominican long fillers with the same Dominican binder as its Classic counterpart, Special Dark is still a bit … different. Outside, what you may think looks like the same Habano wrapper, is actually a Habano Oscuro leaf taken from a higher priming off the tobacco plant, thus imparting a super hearty character with some sweetness that builds in strength. The result … epic full-bodied bliss with that you’d happily pay more for, but fortunately, don’t have to.
It looks like these are going to be hard to find, for at least a while. Luckily, I grabbed a few 5ers when they were put into clearance at one of Cigar.com's buddy sites there in Bethlehem. I paid so little for them that it would be ungracious to say how much. Let's just say, they were a great deal! I didn't expect Tempus Maduro, but what I got was far superior to many high profile brand name maduro cigars that I have paid 3 or 4 times as much for. It just goes to show you that it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog! As is the case with all the Sol Cubano products I have tried, especially the Cuban Cabinet that AJ Fernandez himself saw enough merit in to put his name on them. This is a very good cigar! The prelight aroma is of chocolate. The post light taste is of cocoa, black tobacco & mild cedar, with lite spice & even lighter pepper notes. complex, aromatic, medium bodied flavor, brought to us in a well constructed, even burning vitola that I wish I had bought 50 of! As it is, I have enough to put a few away in storage. Even after two months they have improved dramatically, which is to say they are fabulous now! I will be looking for them to return & if they are anywhere near the bargain they were when they disappeared, I will be stocking up on them, to say the least! These do come in a box, but I got mine in mazos of 5, so I will rate them as a bundled cigar. they get a heartfelt 4 1/2 out of 5 mazos, one of the higest ratings I have ever bestowed on a bundled product. If you like maduro, you will love these oscuro habano wrapped beauties, that are so affordable, you could literally smoke them one after the other, if they were only available!
