The Nicarao brand begins and ends with Didier Houvenaghel. After years of studying at the University of Hermanos Sainz de Pinar del Rio in Cuba, Didier jumped into the cigar business. Well, the publishing side of things, that is. Frustrated with the lack of information on cigars, Didier decided to write the book The Cigar: From Soil To Soul. It was during his travels while researching the book that he stumbled upon some Cubans in Nicaragua that wanted to start producing cigars. And that's how Nicarao was born.
Keeping with Nicarao's trend of box products, Nicarao's Especial is a Nicaragua puro. Comprised of a collection of Nicaraguan fillers aged anywhere from 2 to 5 ½ years, the Especial blend is medium to full-bodied with a smooth, refined taste. The savory Habano wrapper offers bitter-sweet notes of chocolate and espresso that cling to your palate offering a long, satisfying finish.
