Gran Habano cigar takes a stand with Zulu Zulu.

Gran Habano can trace its roots as far back as 1920. The Rico family commits themselves to excellence, and it shows with the outstanding and best-selling blends they put out every year. But the family's commitment goes past cigars with Zulu Zulu. The images of children soldiers on the boxes serve to drive awareness to the non-profit organization, Invisible Children. The charity aims to stop the use of children soldiers worldwide, and each box purchase of Zulu Zulu helps to fund that effort.

Crafted in Gran Habano's factory in Honduras, only 2,000 boxes were ever created for Zulu Zulu. Let's break the two blends down:

Habano: A hearty core of Nicaraguan long-fillers is at the base of this mouth-watering blend, which is encased inside a robust Nicaraguan Habano wrapper. Notes of nutmeg, black pepper, and earth are heavily prominent. It would pair well with a dark rum.

Connecticut: This handmade features the same full-flavored Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Habano blend, but in this instance they are joined by a silky smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. This cigar comes across as medium-bodied, with notes of cashews, earth, and hints of vanilla on the finish.
