Made in a boutique factory in Nicaragua, Cult cigars showed up on our radar a few months back at the end of a purchasing trip in Nicaragua. We tried to unwind at a restaurant in Esteli when we were handed a small bundle of Cult cigars. If you knew how many cigars we go through on purchasing trips, you'd know this wasn't the time to smoke another blend. But after some prodding, we decided to be polite and fire it up. Even with burnt out palates, we all knew this was a hit just waiting to happen.
Everything about Cult has surprised us so far. The boxes? They look like they've been sitting in the hull of some pirate ship for the last 100 years. And that's a good thing. Elegantly packaged, Cult is made in Nicaragua with Nicaraguan and Indonesian fillers. The succulent fillers are then snuggly wrapped underneath a seamless Ecuadorian Habano wrapper dripping with flavors of cedar, spice, and leather. Medium in body, the blend can double as an excellent morning cigar, but still has the strength to act as your end-of-the-day cigar. Joining a Cult never sounded so good.
