A cigar by any other name wouldn't be as tasty.
Christian Eiroa sure knows how to make a premium cigar, and his contributions are known for their signature strength and flavor. This latest eponymous handmade comes from the company's El Aladino factory in Honduras. Each exquisitely crafted premium cigar pays tribute to the Eiroa family, a cigar brand with a legacy 100 years in the making. Each premium is reminiscent of Christian Eiroa's grandfather, and his habit for keeping cigars stashed at the foot of his bed in a trunk, and features the old Spanish saying, “Salud, Amor y Pesetas” which means, “Health, Love, and Money.” Appropriately, that's also Eiroa's motto for a successful life.
This Honduran puro is medium to full-bodied and starts out on the right note with subtle hints of leather and pepper. The flavor is distinctive, with definite undertones of saltiness and sweetness in equal measure. The second third intensifies with amplified character and flavor. The finish is just right, with generous helpings of cocoa, coffee, and cream clinging to the palate. With a flawless Honduran wrapper, and boasting an even draw, solid construction, and an incredibly unique taste, Eiroa is a stunning tribute to the family name and legacy.
