ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack's Revenge - Joe07/10/2025
This is a definitively Dominican cigar, but with added complexity from its San Andres wrapper that gives it an adventurous, and dare I say, swashbuckling flair. The creamy blend interplays rich notes of floral sweetness and mixed nuts. Fascinating to the finish, it displays an impressive balance of its pronounced notes.

I really shouldn’t be surprised when Torano releases an outstanding blend, but 1916 Cameroon exceeded all my expectations. Balanced, and complex, Torano 1916 Cameroon has made its way into my regular rotation with ease. The spicy, and earthy blend of fillers are complemented perfectly by the sweet and delicate notes you get from the flawless Cameroon wrapper.

The Torano 1916 Cameroon is an everyday cigar in terms of price but punches above its weight in terms of quality and nuance. This medium-bodied premium is effortlessly complex, delivering toasty notes of spice, nuts, and caramel. As a fan of toothy Cameroon wrappers, this is a welcome addition to my humidor.

I enjoyed smoking the Torano 1916 Cameroon, it’s a well-constructed blend with a perfect Cameroon wrapper that offers some of my favorite tasting notes such as nuttiness, earth and spice. This blend is also medium-bodied which is my preferred strength. I felt this handmade fits the Torano profile being one of my favorites from the brand.

Kristoff Tres Compadres - Lindsay01/02/2025
After hearing about owner Glen Case crafting this blend to honor two of his dearest, late friends, I knew it would provide a memorable smoking experience – I just didn’t know how well it would align with my own palate. Tres Compadres is creamy and earthy with a hint of sweet, atypical for a Nicaraguan puro.

I had my first encounter with a Tres Compadres Toro right after PCA 2023 in Las Vegas. It looked so different than other cigars within Kristoff’s portfolio, but two things remained the same: an even burn and just the right amount of resistance on the draw. Carefully tear off the band and flip over for a sweet note.

Similarly to the other Experts, the presentation of the Tres Compadres took me by surprise: I’m so accustomed to Kristoff cigars and their boxes looking more rustic, giving that “fresh from the factory” feeling. This newer release is classical and sophisticated, two adjectives I’d also use to describe this blend’s delivery on the palate.

The Robusto vitola in this blend is my favorite: it’s a bit bolder than the other sizes, and its flavor profile reminds me of a snickerdoodle cookie. Some may claim it’s medium to full-bodied, but I’d argue it’s medium, and therefore suitable for all enthusiasts. Pair with Four Roses Small Batch by the fire for a fine evening.

Not many are willing to undergo a triple fermentation process on their tobaccos, and even when they do, there’s a risk involved. Thankfully, Pepín and his son, Jaime know what they’re doing. The richness in flavor and aroma with the re-released Noblesse is sublime. Rolled entubado style and finished with a Cuban triple cap, an old favorite is reborn.

If you asked me to sum up my thoughts on the Noblesse re-release, I could do it in one word: opulent. Given the San Andrés wrapper, there are these indulgent notes of chocolate and espresso, making for an ideal after-dinner experience. Pairs well with Maker’s Mark 46.
