  • Re: seasoning Humi

NO!! Use distillled water ONLY. And even then, it's debateable whether you should wipe or not - best option is to put a bowl of distilled water in there for 3-7 days and let it humidify at its own pace

  • Re: A Humidor is Born!

Very nice humidor, but I'm curious about the thickness of the walls - I've looked at higher-end humidors sitting next to low-end ones, and I've read a lot about what separates the two, and one of the biggest features is thick walls to withstand the humidity differences of the outside vs inside environments.

  • Re: Humidor / Chess Board Combo

So how many cigars are you gonna allow in this? 50 for each side? How big cigars are we talking - cuban sized, or churchill sized ones? Also, do you have any references/feedback from buyers on your work? The chess board seems like a really interesting idea and I'd like to know more. Thanks

Oddly enough, I'm having this problem not only with Ccom, but CI and Famous Smokes/Cigar Monster as well - they all seem to keep going down

  • Re: How do you choose what to smoke?

I only order boxes of what I like (and onyl have about 3 kinds of cigars ATM), and only singles of what I want to try out. So when I open my humidor, it's simply a question of1) Do I want to try something new?2) Do I want to smoke something I know I'll enjoy

j0z3r: xmacro:Remember that cigars typically need 1-2 weeks in a humidor after being shipped for them to taste right - smoking them before then is pretty nastyI respectfully disagree. Some cigars are downright nasty straight from the mailbox, but I've had more than a few that were very good. Luck of the draw at best, but I don't feel that what ...

  • Re: new to cigars

I know it's a bit late, but that humidor was a good deal, assuming it was still in decent condition. Just get a little travel humidor (about $15) to store the cigars in. Remember that cigars typically need 1-2 weeks in a humidor after being shipped for them to taste right - smoking them before then is pretty nasty
