Judging by appearance alone, Ortega Cigar Co.’s Cubao looks like a vintage Cuban cigar. Its classic and understated look belies the waves of flavor lying beneath its elegant wrapper. A few years ago, Cubao was a highly acclaimed brand that was lauded by enthusiasts far and wide until it was discontinued due to the availability of the rare tobaccos it contained. After a brief hiatus, and being able to source the same tobaccos for the blend, Cubao is finally back and we couldn’t be happier.

Hailing from Tacasa Tabacalero in Nicaragua, Cubao comes draped in an earthy Ecuador Sumatra wrapper gently hugging a blend of Nicaraguan Jalapa and Estelí long-leaves. Medium-bodied and creamy-smooth, this superb blend is highlighted by nuances of leather, hay, wood, nuts, and pepper providing for a balanced and jovial experience. This is the perfect time for you to try Cubao for the first time, or to welcome this delectable cigar back to your rotation.
