Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edicion Doble Diamante Red
A Masterwork of Aged Nicaraguan Leaf
Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Doble Diamante Red stands as the second release in Altadis U.S.A.’s ultra premium Doble Diamante series, created in collaboration with Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez. Produced in Nicaragua at Fernandez’s main factory in Estelí, the cigar is built around a small batch Nicaraguan wrapper, an extra fermented Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos all drawn from Fernandez’s Finca La Lilia and San Lotano farms. Much of the leaf comes from first and second harvests that have undergone extended aging and fermentation, contributing to a medium full profile with remarkable depth. The blend is rich and complex, offering soft spice, cocoa and leather woven through a refined Nicaraguan character. Production is limited to 5,000 cigars, presented in 250 piano finished red and white humidors of 20 cigars each, with a price of 150 dollars per cigar.
Inspired by the rarity and brilliance of a red diamond, this edition continues the concept introduced by the original Doble Diamante, which became one of the most prestigious Montecristo releases to date. Nodal describes the project as a continued pursuit of perfection within the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary line, crafted from exceptional tobaccos selected from Fernandez’s personal reserves to achieve depth, richness and balance while honoring the elegance associated with the Montecristo name. Offered in a single 6 1/2 by 54 toro extra format, the Edición Doble Diamante Red is sure to become a top-shelf staple in humidors across the world.
