La Palina 1948
La Palina and Oliva collaborate for one very special birthday cigar.
Marking the 75th birthday of chairman Bill Paley is the brand’s La Palina 1948 line. A collaboration between La Palina and Oliva, each handmade is rolled at Oliva’s Tabolisa Factory in EstelÃ, Nicaragua. The 1948 blend utilizies a two-year-aged Ecuador Sumatra Sun Grown wrapper atop a Nicaraguan binger and long-fillers from select Oliva family farms. A limited annual release, all four vitolas are box-pressed and packaged in 10-count boxes.
Both the bands and inner box lids showcase imagery important to both cigar companies, including illustrations of Estelà and Manhattan as they appeared in 1948. Also featured is an image of Bill Paley during his service in Vietnam, a facsimile of his signature, and the same etching of his grandmother Goldie Drell Paley from the bands on the illustrious Goldie cigar.
