H.Upmann Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Sunrise expands the modern collaboration between Altadis U.S.A., AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal, becoming the third regular production release in the series after the 2017 original and the 2021 Heritage. Crafted at AJ Fernandez’s main factory in Estelí, Sunrise features an Ecuadorian Connecticut seed wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers grown, fermented and aged by Fernandez. The blend was created to offer a smoother, more balanced profile that still carries the Nicaraguan character of the series, and its gentle, refined nature recalls the easygoing elegance that made the earliest H. Upmann cigars so beloved when the brand first emerged from its Cuban roots.
Although wrapped in Connecticut seed leaf, Sunrise was designed as a medium bodied cigar rather than a mild one, delivering approachability without losing flavor or personality. Altadis U.S.A. describes it as a Connecticut done right, smooth and easy to enjoy while still offering clear character. With its balanced profile and polished construction, Sunrise rounds out the H.
