Ernesto Perez-Carillo first got his start in cigars in the 1970s, taking over El Credito in Miami - a small factory started by his father. By the 1990s, he had grown his La Gloria Cubana brand to major fandom, eventually selling El Credito to General Cigar in 1999. The established cigar guru opened his own company, Casa Carillo, in 2009 out of which have come highly rated blends like E.P. Carillo Pledge ( '98'-rated, #1 Cigar of 2020) and E.P. Carillo Encore ( '96'-rated, #1 Cigar of 2018).
