Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Year of the Pausers 2026
Two Friends. Two Cigars. One Release.
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s Year of the Pausers 2026 continues Steve Saka’s personal “Year of” series, which honors real people connected to the brand rather than following the usual zodiac themed approach. This edition celebrates Michelle and Tom Pauser, a well known Alaskan couple active in the cigar community and longtime supporters of DTT.
Because the two have very different palates, the cabinet contains two separate blends in the same format with a pigtail, seven of each. Each blend is made at the factory that aligns with its inspiration, with Joya de Nicaragua crafting Michelle’s cigar and NACSA producing Tom’s.
The Michelle blend draws from her love of Sin Compromiso. It uses a Grade 1 Mexican San Andrés Negro Cultivo Tonto wrapper over an Ecuadorian Habano Viso Rosado binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania Seedleaf. The profile sits at medium plus and brings cocoa, espresso, loam, and a sweet, creamy finish.
The Tom blend reflects his preference for heavier Dunbarton creations like Mi Querida Triqui Traca and Mi Querida Black. It introduces a new wrapper leaf called Capa Camaleón, a hybrid of Habano 2000 and Connecticut Broadleaf, paired with a Mexican San Andrés Negro binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. This version is full in body, offering burnt caramel, savory saltiness, and dark chocolate.
In honor of two people who mean a great deal to the DTT family, Dunbarton presents: Year of the Pausers 2026.
