Broadleaf in ex-Bourbon Barrels, '90' rated by Cigar Aficionado.

When the original Weller by Cohiba debuted in 2021, it was a runaway success. Two of the biggest names in their respective fields – spirits and cigar making – came together to create something legendary. You may have thought that was the end of the road, but Weller and General Cigar have done it again with the new Weller by Cohiba Toro Tubo, further strengthening the relationship between bourbon and premium cigars.

A one-time release offered in a single 6.0"x50 Toro vitola, the new Weller by Cohiba features tobaccos from five different countries. An Ecuadorian Sumatra binder greets the senses, atop a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and long-fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras. For this 2022 edition the binder has been aged in ex-Weller barrels, deepening the connection between the cigar and beverage – and making for a super-premium pairing opportunity. The medium to full-bodied blend offers a rich, creamy smoke with more pronounced notes of oak, red fruit, and caramel due to the barrel-aged tobacco; subtle notes of cocoa, earth, and leather interplay nicely, all serving to complement the bright and elegant wheated profile of Weller’s award-winning bourbon.
