Be warned, Punisher is no joke.
This full-bodied, potent blend of Nicaraguan ligero tobaccos is one of the strongest cigars we've ever experienced. The original Cu-Avana brand was created by legendary cigar producer Manuel Quesada. The idea behind Cu-Avana was to create a blend presenting an exorbitant amount of flavor, while maintaining a smooth character and a mellow body. Fans of Cu-Avana will agree that the goal was met, with both the natural and maduro versions, offering a complexity rarely seen in subtle cigars obtained without sacrificing its mellow characteristics. Recently, enthusiasts across the globe have been seeking out stronger, more robust cigars. Therefore, it was time to add a full-bodied blend to the Cu-Avana line. To complete this feat, the reins were passed to Nestor Plasencia, who developed a tasty, full-bodied treat originating from Nicaragua.
You'll feel the power of Punisher as soon as the cigar touches your lips—it’s natural to experience a numbing feeling even before you light this firecracker up. Just breathe...it'll be ok. The cigar exudes a creamy smoke filled with copious amounts of spice and pepper, and is well-balanced with natural earthy sensations mixed throughout. Don't expect sweetness from this powerhouse. We highly recommend you enjoy this one on a full stomach. New enthusiasts and experienced aficionados be warned: this cigar is incredibly strong and super spicy.
My husband tried these overseas during a bet with a couple of his higher commanders and fellow enlisted marines and he absolutely loves them. The description he gave was extreme and I couldn't believe that he would like something as "HOT" as he said it was. Needless to say, he won the bet without breaking a sweat and watched some of the men cave. :)
These things pack one hell of a lot of spice! Red pepper burns your lips before you even light it. They might mellow out after a while in the humi' I hope so otherwise I'm giving the rest away.
I've been enjoying cigars for nearly 4 decades and I've smoked a variety of sticks from very mild to full body. The Punisher deserves a category of its own. It is ineed a powerhouse and not for the faint of heart. I was given a Punisher a few months ago to try and when it first touched my lips I thought I might be in for some trouble. Upon lighting it, I immediately experienced its full strenth and I surmised that I had finally met my match - unbearable? But I hung in there like a batter with two strikes facing a fireballing pitcher. About an inch in, it transformed into a smooth, incredibly satisfying, tasty smoke. I am finishing one up as I am writing this and it remains tasty with wonderful tones of oak, espresso and chocolate. It's not sweet but has an nutty finish. The Punisher burns evenly and gradually. It is well constructed and becomes more mellow as it comes to its end. This cigar is now my hands down favorite but only occasionally given its head spinning boldness. If you're a novice, this stick is probably not for you but if you're an over the top, lover of full body, in your face kinds of things like me, you'll love this smoke. I also like Wild Turkey 101 whiskey and black espresso coffee. If that's you, don't be discourage when you first light it and experience your first few puffs of billowy smoke. Give it time. Tough it out and you'll see what I'm talking about. I also like Cu-Avano's Intenso which is markedly less bold but equally enjoyable. Hands down the most powerful cigar made as far as I can tell. Wonderful.
Just had my first Punisher. It's not for wimps! At first I was slightly put off by the fiery flavor of the wrapper. But, as a Jalapeno lover, I pressed on. The smoke is great, certainly full bodied but perfectly balanced, and the peppery flavor of the wrapper does diminish (or maybe my lips just got numb). Overall, an excellent cigar, but not for the weak.
