90-rated Nicaraguan gem from cigar legend Omar Ortez.
A native to Nicaragua with a rich history in tobacco cultivation and blending, Omar Ortez remains one of the best blender's in the business but constantly maintains a low profile to keep his operation relatively private. Just like the Padron family, Ortez maintains a factory where he personally oversees and controls every aspect of its operations. Due to this reason, Omar Ortez cigars are consistently expertly constructed and rate high with the industry's top publications.
Omar Ortez Originals hail from Nicaragua and are, in fact, Nicaraguan puros (a cigar where wrapper, binder, and filler all hail from the same country). Using all long leaf, you'll find a hearty Nicaraguan Habano wrapper that conceals a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long leaves in the filler. You'll find the first couple inches of this cigar rather flavorful but subtle with very little spice. After that, it picks up for a stronger, bolder finish. You'll find a hint of sweetness that transitions into an enjoyable bitterness while the aroma maintains a pleasant cedar note. Medium to full-bodied.
