I'm always surprised when this cigar is described as a Nicaraguan as it has such a light draw and smooth flavor. I'd almost describe the flavor as Dominican --- but I'd be wrong. The several boxes of the Oliva Melanio Serie V I've smoked I don't think I've ever has to relight one. It smokes that evenly. They've always had a fine even draw --- giving the feeling that they have airy sort of draw. I wouldn't describe this stick as having the punch and dense wrapping of a Padron until you get near to the end of the smoke. The bottom third of any cigar is what I call the "business end". That is where you really feel the kick of the collected flavors. I can't complain with this cigar. It is the one cigar I'll reach for as a trusted and flavorful companion who doesn't disappoint.

The best cigar on the market. Great, full flavor with no bite. I'm never without them in my humidor. Extremely consistent. Never had a bad one. I almost hate to give it a rave review because I don't want them to be in short supply.

Got a box as a present for my Father In Law's 60th Birthday. He, and the rest of us were very pleased with this cigar. The box press is wonderful and creates a consistent taste and even burn from start to finish. Will definitely have some of these to in the humidor at all times.

Excellent cigar! I tried Melanio Robusto and Figurado, and I did not know their history or their rating over the last couple of years before smoking it, and it became my new favorite cigar! I generally have enjoyed mild cigars, (so I don't feel like I'm still enjoying it 2 days later) but these are a much more full flavored cigar, yet very mild to the palate. Oliva V Melanio Double Toro: Medium strong, very full Nicaraguan tobaccos. A large person’s cigar – a double toro (aka toro gordo) 6” x 60 ring, slightly rectangular box pressed. Smooth, sweet, hints of vanilla and chocolate, followed by cedar, leather, and black pepper. Personal ratings for taste, draw, appearance, construction, and burn – all top scores. One of my “top 3” cigars. Very highly recommended.
