A darker, heartier, Serie G.
Oliva Serie 'G' Maduro has everything Oliva fans have come to expect from the Nicaraguan cigar maker, including their world famous rich maduro wrapper. This cigar is an amazing value for a premium cigar. Critically acclaimed and '93' rated by cigar aficionado, this cigar is a must try.
As Nicaraguan cigars have become more and more popular, Oliva has been leading the pack putting out a wide variety of premium cigars. Having fled Castro after the Cuban Revolution, the Olivas have grown tobacco all over the world which has lent to their huge success in Nicaragua. Today they are among the largest growers of tobacco in Central America.
Serie 'G' Maduro combines heavy Nicaraguan fillers with a dark maduro wrapper. One of the things Oliva is best known for is their unmatched maduro leaf. Smooth, sweet and very rich, aficionados consider maduro wrappers from their farm to be the best in the world. If you are looking for a rich medium to full-bodied maduro at a great price, this will earn a spot in your humidor.
RATED '93' BY CIGAR AFICIONADO!
I tried the other Serie G and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to try the Maduro as well. While I think I enjoyed the other Serie G a little better, I wouldn't turn down another one of these. I thought it was pretty smooth and consistent.
I grabbed a 10 pack of these for $3 apiece recently. It is a good smoke, well constructed & quite tasty. @ that price well worth the effort. However, I prefer Alex Bradley's Maxx, The Fix, which can be had for the same price. You be the judge. One thing is the Fix is a big gordo robusto, while the G series Belicoso is a more standard 5' X 52.
Just discovered this cigar awhile back. The only cigar out there that reminds me of a Padron 1964.
It is a flavorful and slightly sweet puros with that "silky" quality found only in most Cubans or in the 64. The Oliva G is going to be my "house" cigar from now on!
Expert Picks: Year of the Favorites
Before this review, I enjoyed Oliva cigars on occasion, but now I find myself in love with the Oliva Serie 'G' Maduro. Its dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan long-fillers reward my palate with a slightly nutty profile and notes of earthiness, fruit, cocoa, and coffee!
Expert Picks: Hip to be Squared
One of my favorites, the Nicaraguan box-pressed Oliva Serie ‘G’ Maduro, sports a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. I found that it pairs perfectly with a deep-ambered brandy. The palate is rewarded with a slightly nutty profile accompanied by notes of dried sweet fruits, cocoa, and coffee.
