Cigar makers from around the world have looked to Eduardo Fernandez and Aganorsa farms in Nicaragua to create blends with added character, and sophisticated profiles. While this highly regarded farm has supplied tobacco to a number of companies, Fernandez crafted his own highly acclaimed cigars under the Casa Fernandez moniker, and among these premiums is New Cuba Maduro.
This affordable all-star uses the 'Cuban Sandwich' rolling technique, and features a blend of Aganorsa filler tobacco, delicately draped with a mahogany brown Maduro wrapper. With quality construction, a more than decent draw and burn, and flavor for days, heads are going to start turning when someone mentions New Cuba in casual cigar conversation. Medium-bodied, expect a more nuanced profile than most handmades having similar price-tags, with notes of coffee, cream, some cedar, and just enough spice to keep you honest. New Cuba is one of my new 'go-to' options. So go get a pack or two, & i bet you'll be on-board before long, too!
