Great cigar. Good taste, slow burning, easy to enjoy. I usually smoke mild cigars but was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable smoke experience. Good aftertaste. I have already bought more to smoke. Oh, I also liked the Churchill size and shape.

I tried La Palina cigars a few years ago for the first time. They were a bit pricey, so I purchased only two. I let them rest in my humidor for several months until they seemed the perfect balance of humidity and temperature, and had a perfect soft, yet slight resistance to the touch. You can always tell upon first light whether a cigar shows promise or it's going to be just another cigar. Most cigars hint at what they will become at that first moment of taste. A few excite your palate and promise an adventure you haven't yet experienced. La Palina is a bold cigar that eminently satisfies, and ultimately delivers a unique smoking experience. If you're a novice smoker, perhaps you should start with something a bit milder and less expensive. A great cigar only tastes like a great cigar once the smoker has enough of a sophisticated palate to appreciate it. We all start somewhere, and there is no shame in learning about cigars gradually. Had I smoked this La Palina fifteen years ago, I doubt it would have made much of an impression. But after nearly twenty years of smoking pretty much everything that's out there, I can taste the difference a La Palina cigar makes. It draws smoothly, burns evenly, holds onto it's ash for a good inch or so, and satisfies your palate nicely and completely. I find it to be a refined cigar, not one that shouts or makes you wonder why you bought it in the first place. Since those first two cigars, I've tried every cigar La Palina makes, and have never been disappointed. If you want a slightly unusual cigar and believe you have a discerning palate, I recommend you take this La Palina for a test drive. I think you'll be very happy you did. It remains one of my cherished cigars, reserved for a somewhat special occasion.
