The Hammer + Sickle symbolism is not a homage to the old Soviet Union, but rather pays tribute to both the agricultural—with the sickle, and industrial—with the hammer, means required to produce a handmade cigar. Hammer + Sickle cigars are quickly gaining a dedicated following and have received universal praise among cigar publications.
Hammer + Sickle Tradición navigates the fine line between mellow and medium-bodied cigars, managing to capture the best of both worlds. Hailing from the legendary Tabadom factory in the Dominican Republic, this blend is dressed in a silky five year old Connecticut Shade wrapper sitting atop a blend of hand-selected three year old Dominican long-leaves. Flavors abound with nuances of subtle pepper, cream, citrus, and leather that never teeter out of balance, and deliver a complex experience. Coming in a handmade, etched glass box, Hammer + Sickle Tradición will have you captivated at first sight. Cigar Aficionado #11 Cigar of 2015 - '94' Rated

I’m not a huge writer of reviews, but since there is only one very negative one, another perspective seems in order. I first experienced this brand in Bosnia in the mid 90’s. I found it to be a wonderful cigar, but when I got back stateside could not find it anywhere. It became a long forgotten pleasure. This past year I bumped into it at a local Cigar bar and was instantly taken back to another country and a wonderful cigar. I then found through a friend that Cigar.com carried them. Instant order!
They are a mild cigar and I find the flavor easy going, not overwhelming, but certainly not underwhelming. It’s all in what you like I guess. The burn is even and maintains itself well. I do not have to re-light several times and I’ve found very little maintenance is required. It smokes well and evenly. My favorite is the Toro. I am however, wondering how much I might save if I wasn't paying for the 12 pound glass humidor!
This has quickly become my favorite cigar, however with that being said I enjoy a variety of cigars in size, strength, aroma, etc. But the bottom line is that this cigar, good whiskey and good friends are meant to be shared.
