One of the rarest blends, with only 1,000 boxes made.
Genghis Khan is another exclusive release from Gurkha, makers of some of the world's rarest and finest cigars. Gurkha specializes in sourcing vintage tobaccos and making small batches of cigars. Today they are enjoyed by royalty, politicians, actors, and a host of other famous faces.
Genghis Khan was produced in very limited quantities and in only two sizes: toro and Churchill. Also, like most other Gurkha offerings, the packaging on these cigars is almost as appealing as the cigars themselves. In 2005, only 1,000 chests of 30 Churchills were produced, making them one of the smallest batch run cigars Gurkha has ever made. But the visual appeal doesn't stop at the box. Each cigar has an extra-ripe and dark Costa Rican maduro wrapper that covers a core of aged fillers and a binder from Honduras. This combination gives the cigar a fuller-bodied and sweeter taste compared to most other cigars.
Churchill (7.5”x52): It's been a while since we touched base with this blend so we wanted to go ahead and give it another review. By this point in time, the cigars have been aging for a few years due to the lack of new production, and this churchill is tasty. Definitely not as potent as it originally was, but the super smooth and creamy flavors you receive are worth the exchange. The sweetness in this blend presents itself a bit more while the hearty, spicy finish remains rather mellow - perfectly balanced. Many cigars age better than others and this is one of them. Only issue with the churchill is by the 5th inch, the balance begins to fade away and you're left with a stout, robust character and builds in strength until the finish. Some may find that good, others not so much. Personally, this is a great blend that got better with age.
