Well-known as the man behind the La Gloria Cubana brand, Ernesto-Perez Carrillo now focuses on his own family-run EPC Cigar Company which continues to produce high-rated boutique cigars in the traditional Cuban way with his son, Ernesto III and daughter, Lissette.
This medium-bodied cigar takes the original ‘91' rated New Wave blend to all new heights. Pulled from a high-priming on the plant, the wrapper leaf used for New Wave Reserva has a darker hue than most Connecticut wrappers. A step up from the New Wave Connecticut, the Reserva offers a perfect, everyday medium-bodied platform with complex flavors. An Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper surrounds a Connecticut broadleaf binder and filler blend from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Each draw produces ample amounts of Cuban-esque smoke with notes of cedar, oak, and a touch of sweetness.
