A Ritual Worth Repeating.
Originally debuting in 2011, this handmade from E.P. Carrillo sold out in no time at all, leaving enthusiasts hungry for more. Well, their desires have been answered with this stunning creation. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo is responsible for the popular La Gloria Cubana cigar line, and founded his El Credito Cigar Company in Miami. With roots in Cuba, Ernesto has cigar making in the blood. He's one of the best blenders in the business. It's no wonder his eponymous cigar label has been so successful.
Dark Rituals is a real powerhouse. The bold blend sports an extra-fermented, US Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper that's ripe with tooth and oils. Just beneath, a thick binder leaf from Ecuador carefully contours a core of potent Nicaraguan long-filler. This complex mix features a special proprietary leaf of Ligero that supposedly contributes a healthy portion of Dark Rituals' unique and memorable profile. While the lack of a backstory regarding this 'chief leaf' makes for rather bland copy, hot-damn does it add some serious spice to the actual cigar experience! As the veritable feather in this 'cap-a especíal', I'll allow this type of blatant disregard for tobacco transparency this one time only. After all, if I made a blend that tasted this good, I'd burn the recipe, seal my lips, and swallow the key (not necessarily in that order). Speaking of order, you should. These. Twice. And I'd do it sooner than later, as EPC Dark Rituals always disappear quite quick 'round these parts.
What? How does it taste? Really frickin' good! Expect sensory intensity, with full-bodied flavors delivered fast & furious from the get-go. And while The Rock doesn't make an appearance, you can count on a laundry list of deliciousness like dried fruit, dark cocoa, & roasted coffee. It's chock full o' notes like espresso and, like espresso, Dark Ritual's character is rich, strong, and finishes with some fight.
