Camacho is a brand best known for big, bold, powerhouse cigars with rich and balanced flavor profiles. Often compared to Cuban cigars, many aficionados prefer Camacho over their Cuban counterparts due to their superior construction and complexity. Camacho fearlessly pushes the envelope with their annual limited-edition releases, which have become increasingly sought after and collected.
Camacho Shellback is a new limited-edition release that’s the initial offering in their line known as the “Brotherhood Series.” Shellback is a rite of passage for sailors crossing the equator for the first time, and this blend honors that tradition with an Ecuador Habana wrapper, with Ecuador being located on the equator, and a binder and filler from Nicaragua, which is north of the equator. Camacho Shellback is medium to full-bodied, and features robust and hearty flavors with notes of black pepper, spice, cedar, and earth.
From a price value stand point this is a no brainer. Here is what to expect:
Great Taste & Flavor as usual for a Camacho Cigar. This is a upper end medium to heavy smoke.
Flavor is consistent throughout.
The smoke time is about an hour.
The area Shellback under performs is the draw; By this I mean who rolled this?
While it smokes just fine my complaint is it burns like someone lit it backwards - I experienced boating for no reason. The oxygen passes fine it looks like heck.
Packaging is really cool and pleasing to the eye.
Great smoke but don't expect perfection. I give 3.8 out of 5 score with taste and blending being the strong suits.
