Asylum was created by the duo Kevin Baxter and Tom Lazuka. The idea behind the project was to offer enthusiasts "refuge from reality," and this fledgling company is making some outstanding strides towards this concept. The duo from Asylum decided to enlist the help of industry legend, Christian Eiroa, who was the brains behind the ‘94' rated Camacho brand.
The first Asylum cigar to be produced in Honduras, this 100% Honduro Puro utilizes authentic Corojo seed tobaccos grown on Eiroa family farms, where the best Corojo tobaccos have been cultivated for decades. And, that quality shows. Primary notes of leather, earth, dark chocolate, and red peppers are balanced out by some ripe berry notes in the background. The blend is full-bodied and spicy, and stays strong throughout the experience without ever becoming harsh at any point, however.
