A minty twist.

Just when you thought Java couldn't get any better...enter Java Mint, a sweet treat from the Drew Estate team that combines the pleasantly rich cocoa flavors from Java with a unique touch of mint and sweet vanilla.

Drew Estate is certainly one of the most unique cigar makers, and Rocky Patel remains one of the top enforcers of quality control. Together, Drew Estate and Rocky Patel collaborated to create this superbly constructed and equally tasty blend. Their use of infusions and rare small batch productions enables them to make cigars unlike anyone else in the world. Drew Estate is best known for their ACID line, but have since created hundreds of blends that have a cult-like following. Rocky Patel is revered for his 90+ rated blends.

Java Mint sports a premium 3-year-aged Brazilian Mata Fina maduro wrapper which conceals a mix of long-fillers from Nicaragua's prime growing regions. This medium-bodied blend goes through the same infusion process as Java, but premium mint is added to create a cigar unlike any other. You'll almost feel like you're eating mint chocolate chips as you take your first puff. The finish is refreshing, and leaves a crisp, cool feel with hints of vanilla left over. Whether you're already a fan of Java or if you're just discovering this brand, you'll agree that not only is it one of the best-tasting infused cigars on the market, but it also offers some of the most unique cigar flavors you'll ever experience.

Q & A: Primings?

Q.
What are tobacco primings?

10/02/11 | by RS of Phoenix, AZ

A.
The term "primings" refers to the location of the tobacco leaves found on a tobacco plant's stalk. A tobacco plant has 5 primings: Volado, Seco, Viso, Ligero, and Corona - listed here from the bottom of the plant to the top. The lower primings, which get less sun, are typically thinner and finer while the top primings are much heavier, thicker and tougher…like leather. The top primings not only get more sun, but are also picked 2 weeks later than the bottom so they also benefit from more ground nutrients from the roots in the last two weeks.
