ROCKY PATEL VINTAGE '92

Toro (6.5"x50) Construction was top notch as the cigar burned perfectly even from start to finish. The ash still refused to fall after two inches and the aroma offered many flavorful notes of cedar. Much spice is noticeable out the nose but this size still remains smooth with a mellow yet flavorful finish.

Torpedo (6.1"x52) Excellent blend with perfect balance. The cigar switched between medium earthy flavors and full spicy sensations after the first inch and slow continued to build in flavor without becoming overwhelming strong. Smooth.

Mini Belicoso (5"x52) Unique and enjoyable. Offered some sweeter flavors up front with a pleasant underlying toasty nuance of earth. Rich and enjoyable.

Sixty (6.0"x60) Very rich and full-flavored. This size expells a ton of smoke while burning cool and even from head to foot. Expect a 90 minute, full-bodied experience with a long finish.

Robusto (5.5"x50) Produced thick, creamy smoke with earth and cedar nuances. Burned fast and slightly uneven but corrected itself immediately. Great complexities with a mellow yet flavorful finish.

Churchill (7.0"x48) Nice slow burn with an effortless draw. Produced light spice at the foot which slowly changed throughout the cigar for a complex experience. Allow yourself at least 70 minutes to enjoy this one.

Petit Corona (4.5"x44) Burned hot. Incredibly robust with spice and pepper throughout. Maintained a tight draw from start to finish and the strength only increased from head to foot.

TORANO DOMINICO

Toro (6" x 50) Burned evenly from start to finish with an effortless draw that burned cool and slow. Many earthy nuances were abundant as the flavor and strength slowly build as the cigar burns.

Torpedo (6.2" x 52) The head needed to be cut a bit further than anticipated but the blend really opened up, releasing a slew of complexities ranging from pepper and toast to espresso with a spicy nuance in the finish. Rich, full-flavored and easily medium-bodied, this size is a winner.

Churchill (7" x 48) Slightly less complex than the torpedo, the 7 x 48 frame kept a slow and steady burn, although some heat was noticeable to the touch. The complexities slowly changed throughout as the flavor mellowed towards the finish and the strength continued to increase.

Robusto (5" x 50) No construction problems existed but the smooth, toasty finish wasn't present in comparison to the torpedo and toro. The blend was very robust from the start and kept building towards the end. The finish was not balanced.

MAN O' WAR CIGARS RUINATION

Belicoso (5.7" x 56) Full-bodied with black pepper and spice noticeable upon first light. Draw was perfect, although the cut to the head of the cigar had to be deeper than most other figurados. The complexities of cedar, earth, and pepper were enjoyable and interesting throughout as most of the strength is felt in the gut, not the head. Excellent!

Robusto No. 1 (5.5" x 54) This size easily lasted 75 minutes and produced a longer finish with a more robust character than the belicoso. The smoke is thick and heavy with an excellent, toasty aroma. Complex with abundant spice throughout and a note of espresso, this is a size for the true, full-bodied enthusiast.

Robusto No. 2 (6" x 60) The huge gauge allows for an incredibly easy draw that emits a ton of smoke and tasty complexities. The different nuances available with this size are easy to taste, from its leathery qualities to its spicy-sweet characteristics, but it did burn slightly uneven. The finish was toasty but not as smooth as the two other sizes.

LA AROMA DE CUBA EDICION ESPECIAL

No. 2 (4.8" x 48) Easy draw with tons of different aromas. Burned perfectly even from start to finish and was incredibly complex. The smoke produced a ton of cedar-like nuances with a definitive cinnamon flavor in the aftertaste. Did not notice many sweet flavors.

No. 5 (5.5" x 52) Great size with a cool and even burn. Noticeably complex with cedar, earth, white pepper, and spicy notes intermingled throughout. Far from boring and produced a thick, creamy smoke. The wrapper was very oily and the aftertaste left a sweet flavor on the palate, with some hints of nutmeg.

No. 3 (6" x 50) Pepper fills the palate with the initial light, producing a robust experience from the start. The blend's medium-bodied character shifts halfway through to a more potent full-bodied flavor with spicy undertones that mask its cinnamon characteristics. 5 VEGAS SERIES 'A'

Alpha (6.0"x52) Robust during the first 2 inches, but mellows to become richer in flavor towards the band. Produced many hints of pepper, which blended well with the chocolaty aftertaste. Also offered an easy draw, slow burn, and thick smoke.

Artisan (5.0"x52) Great size. Well blended and extremely complex offering nuances of earth, peat, and cocoa. The initial light was not as robust as the other sizes but the cigar still changed in flavor from inch to inch. Toothy wrapper that burned evenly and slow all the way to the nub.

Anomaly (4.5" x 44) A spicy, 25-minute cigar. Offered the same complexities noticeable in the larger sizes, with added pepper, and burned evenly throughout.

Archetype (6.0"x50) Great draw. Again, the flavors were very robust towards the foot of the cigar and slightly mellowed towards the head. Noticed more peppery nuances over sweetness but the wrapper was cloaked in oil, which coated the palate. Cool burn.

Apostle (7.0"x50) Draw was a bit tight but still allowed all complexities to be enjoyed. Noticed few veins in the wrapper and this size burned slow, providing more than an hour of enjoyment. The sweet aftertaste was not as prominent.

OLIVA SERIE 'V'

Torpedo (6.0"x56) This is the most preferred size in this blend. The stick is very easy to light and draw. It burns cool and the strength is very consistent from start to finish. The ligero qualities are not noticeably dominant until the last three inches. The finish contains many hints of pepper, but is very rich as well. Perfect balance.

Churchill Extra (7.0"x52) Again, very easy to light. The draw was not as loose, but this stick is pleasantly complex. The finish is very strong and hints of cocoa and espresso are evenly experienced throughout most of the smoke. These nuances then transform into strong hints of pepper and earthy undertones which can be easily noticed lingering in the back of the palate. A well constructed cigar producing lots of creamy smoke, this size is only second to the Torpedo.

Double Toro (6.0"x60) Noticed more cedar notes and chocolate nuances in comparison to other sizes. As expected, the draw is very smooth but the strength contains very little bite for being a 60 ring gauge. The smoke is very creamy and has an excellent aroma.

Double Robusto (5.0"x54) This size begins with some intense strength and flavor from the first puff. The nuances of coffee and earth seem accented in comparison to the other sizes. Noticeable spicy nuances are prominent throughout and this cigar has a strong, but pleasant finish.

Special V Figurado (6.0"x60) The shape is unique but causes a hassle when lighting. There is almost no flavor for the first couple of puffs and it gradually increases until the first inch is reached, then this stick really gives off some strength. It is well constructed, like the other sizes, but drastically mellows out after the first 2 inches are surpassed. Coffee flavors are very dominant on the palate and this size did burn very evenly.

Belicoso (5.0"x54) Noticed this stick burns very slow, even, and is incredibly smooth for the amount of peppery flavors it produces. Leaves a subtle taste of wood and cocoa on the lips, but the smoke is not as milky as expected. Burns a bit hotter in comparison to other sizes.

Lancero (7.0"x38) Due to its small ring gauge, the draw is very tight. The stick does burn even and slow but the heat can be felt on the fingertips. Tastes a lot stronger than the other sizes and the spicy notes are more noticeable over the coffee-like flavors.
