overview

The Carrillo family enjoys a rich a history within the cigar-making trade. The La Historia line was Ernesto's first box-pressed release under his self-titled company; it earned him a '95' rating, and was named Cigar Aficionado's #2 of 2014, but it had a more personal meaning: every vitola in the line was named for and in honor of a close relative that has supported him during his storied career.

Cloaked in an oily San Andrés wrapper, Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers lay beneath an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder. Medium to full-bodied, notes of coffee, cocoa, and black cherry are accented by a delightful spice that ushers in a long, satisfying finish. Knowing this would be representative of his loved ones, Carrillo ensures an enjoyable experience underneath the ornate artwork found on each cigar band.

If you're looking for a proper pairing with your E.P. Carrillo La Historia cigars, pour a dram of any of the following options: Auchentoshan Three Wood (Lowland), Edradour 10 Year (Highland), or Aberlour 14 Year Double Cask (Speyside).
