A legend is reborn...

Started in 1896, La Palina was the brainchild of Samuel Paley. Paley’s other brainchild was some broadcasting company called CBS. Wonder if they’re still around…anyways, the La Palina line largely benefited from their ties to CBS, and grew to be a pretty formidable cigar company. Unfortunately, when Paley retired in 1926, the brand was retired as well.

So if you’re going to revive a brand, what better place to start than a Classic line? But this isn’t some ho-hum, run-of-the-mill Classic brand that plays it safe. This beauty comes cloaked inside a seamless Brazilian Habano wrapper usually reserved for much more limited blends. Underneath the hood, you have a heaping portion of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers held together by a bold Ecuadorian binder. And while the components may suggest a strong blend, most enthusiasts will be relieved that this beauty is a perfectly balanced medium-bodied cigar. If the Classic is a sign of things to come, La Palina is going to be the next big thing.
