Ok, so how about a new game on here---in honor of the Pigskin Season.

One post per person, per week to pick the winners of each Pro Football Game that weekend...with the tie breaker being the total points scored on the Monday Night Game.

Each persons picks have to be in by 11:59pm the night before the games kickoff (ie this Saurday night, Wedneday night prior to Thanksgiving, ect.).

Winner gets a minimum of 4 cigar selection (ship with delivery confirmation)...no rules on the sticks, but of course no Phillies or Black N Mild either. Winner of each week becomes the sender to the winner the next week...and you can play every week you are eligible if you desire.

Hope to have some takers on this one...get your picks in and I will have a nice little something out to the winner about this next time week.

Make A Wish (read first post)

Make a wish is the inverse of the Pay it Forward. Here is how this works:
1) person “A” says “I would like to try “x” cigar.
B) person “B” (who has that cigar in his humi) says I will give you that cigar.
III) person “B” sends person “A” three of those cigars to try.
4) person “B” now gets to wish for a cigar to try.

That’s the cool part. Unfortunately this will have to have many more regulations than the PIF thread.

First: don’t wish for OpusX, La Aurora Preferidos, or other very high end cigars. We aren’t trying to break the other guy’s bank. We are just trying to try some new cigars here. Use some judgment, and if there is a question on if the cigar is too “high end” the forum at large will decide.

Second: no Cubans. Not only is this an illegal thing that you shouldn’t be flaunting (who knows who is watching the board) but they are also hard to come by and sometimes very expensive.

Third: only send three of the cigars asked for. If you send more they should be of other cigars that you think the other person will enjoy. Why? This is for people to get a taste and what if the other person doesn’t like em? Not only that but it is easier to find someone with three of the same cigar than someone with 5. (personally I buy a lot of samplers and having 3 on hand is easy but 5 is a challenge.) three is the minimum amount. If you want to send more of another kind you are more than welcome to but it is NOT a requirement (or an expectation).

Fourth: don’t ask for a specific shape. Beggars can’t be choosers.

and finally... all people wishing for cigars must have had their package received by the previous wisher before wishing. this will be kept track of on this thread.

I guess that’s all as far as rules go. Should other rules be needed they will be instated as we go.

UPDATE:

Alien (outside USA): If the package (granted wish) does not reach the wisher within FOUR weeks AND the wish granter during that time goes inactive on this forum, then the wisher gets another wish.

in either case if the time frames are exceeded, and the wish granter is still active on the forum, both parties must agree that the wish granter can then go ahead and make a wish. The better standings you have with the Forum at large, the more chance you have to make a wish, should this situation come about.

So this works like the fun and games pass so same rules apply. 1 answer per 24 hours, must be on the good trader list and the winner is to be sent at least 4 cigars. More if the sender would like too. Nothing has to be super premium but it's always a pleasant surprise. So I'll start the thing rolling...

So this is one of my all time favorite movies, it won an Antennae II Award and it had 2 male animals that posed as male and female...

Alright just because this one gets more attention over at the EOTAC forums I figured it'd be fun to start it over here. The rules are:

Very similar to the regular PIF game thats on here. The difference is that you have to win some kind of challenge. Whomever wins the challenge gets 3 sticks (not crappy ones, but they don't have to be crazy expensive either) from the person that posted the challenge.

Once you with the challenge you have to post a new challenge no more then 2 days later & you must wait two weeks before trying to win again.

To keep things moving if your challenge goes for more than three days please give clues to wrap it up by the fifth day.

For Newbies - if you have less than 25 post counts and no trading reputation (Good Traders and Stand up Folks thread) you MUST send a PM to me before attempting to win a challenge. You will be able to participate with the following condition. You must first send your package and have it received before the person you won from will send yours.

send me your name and address (via PM) and i will redistribute the wealth, i mean, names to everyone. the name you get is the name that you will send a cigar related package to. Included in your PM to sign up should be the following:
your name and address
a short list of things (cigar related accessories) you want. ( lighters, ashtrays, etc...)
a short list of things you DONT want. (i dont need another cutter i already have 3)
your preference on cigars
the price limit will be in the spirit of $30.00. This $30 is for the "main" gift. any cigars are on top of that. the limit on cigars will be the same as a PIF (3-5) minus the rule that you dont send out super premium. you are welcome to send out any cigar you chose. (no crap though, of course).

Downsizing the humi ...

Anybody that has been around these boards for a while knows me and know my reputation is good. I've been MIA for a while but am hoping to peek back in more often.

Anyways a while back I bought two Vinotemps and did away with my coolerdors. Turns out it was a big mistake. I've had nothing but issues with the Vinotemps. I can't get them to maintain a constant RH and even more annoying is everytime the power flickers they set the default temp back down to 50*. I'm over them and I'm so frustrated at this point I'm just trying to narrow out my stock down and go back to desktop humis.

Anyways, I'm not looking for more cigars obviously and I hate to ask for money but I don't know what else to ask for. I'm willing to spilt these up however you want. Just make me a reasonable offer. If you have something else you think maybe of interest to me just let me.

Ok guys, new board same game.

Same rules as before: One person will ask "Who wants to be my cigar.com mooch?" The first person to answer "I want to be your cigar.com mooch." will receive a package from the the person asking the question.

Here are the terms for participation

1. You must be a cigar.com forum member in good standing and have a minimum of 25 posts. PLEASE NO POST PADDING!!!

2. This game is to involve strictly premium, hand-rolled cigars in prime condition only. At least three cigars per PIF package

3. There are to be no mystery cigars.

4. You have 2 days following the day you win to post your offer. Do not take any longer. If you do you will be considered delinquent and will be out of the game. After you have won, please do not play for the following 14 days.

5. Packages that are to be mailed from within the US should use Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. These Delivery Confirmation numbers are to be posted via Private message to the winner. Players that live outside of the US should post the appropriate tracking to insure delivery in the same method.

6. If for any reason a member is stiffed or receives a package that does not conform to the rules, it is up to that member to resolve the problem. If no resolution has been made within 30 days, the offending party shall be excluded from the game permanently. Please contact myself or any of the Administrators if you have an issue!

Humidor Overstock

I know this is probably not the thread to write into (there actually isn't any thread good for this post lol), but I saw somebody else do it before so I will give it a try. My humidor is overstocked and there are certain cigars I simply do not want anymore. The thing is - I am not sure if I have any space in the humi for trades. And taken that nowadays I barely smoke one cigar a week, I don't think space will open up any time soon. And I do NOT want a new humi - I think I have enough cigars :) not big on the whole collecting aspect. In any case. I took an idea from another site - Cigar Obsession - and decided to post on Wrapper Binder Filler a list of what I have to offer. So here is my list if anybody is interested.

As you can see the availability numbers are pretty low (1 or 2 of each) so I apologize, but this is just overstock - I'm not cigar.com after all LOL... Mystery Stick Game

I got an idea from the Black Band Project. This game would work like PIF but you send someone 3 cigars, without bands, marked A, B and C. The recieving person smokes them and reviews them, trying to guess what they are. After all 3 are smoked and reviewed the sender posts what A, B and C were. That way we rely completley on our palate(which this is a good opportunity to develop) and no brand hype. This way a "highly rated" cigar can be called a bag of ass or a cheap stick an awesome smoke. Only kicker is the recieving person would have to be willing to smoke all 3 within a few days of reciept, humidified shipping would be appreciated. Whats everyone think? If i get a few people interested i'll start things off on Saturday? Good idea?

Thin out my humidor

Ok,
I have 3 fairly full humidors.
2 of three generally have single and double smokes.
Some I want to try, some I have no desire to try.

Here is my question.
If I post the ones that Im not super interested in, would anyone be willing to trade for these?
But here is the catch. Im looking to do 2,3,4,5 etc for 1. Im looking to try some higher end sticks
while unloading some more moderate priced sticks. Before going through and listing the sticks, Im trying to determine if there would be interest in this type of trade.

If there is I will post the stash and you guys can make offers.

I will note that these arent bottom barrell, they are almost all listed on Ccom. Talking Ghurka, Rocky, Padilla, etc. No swisher or other distributors brands.

Etiquette - Trades, Passes, Bombs, etc

Alright in light of some recent events I felt this was needed.

Definitions:
Cigar Bombs - An unsolicited gift of cigars (or cigar stuff) sent via the mail from a Sibling of the Leaf.
Trade - Pretty self explanatory but it is where two BOTLs engage in a swap of cigars with details worked out beforehand.
Pass - When a group of cigars are packaged up and sent to another BOTL with the intention that that BOTL will take a predetermined number of cigars out and replace them with cigars of equal value.
PIF - Pay It Forward- A game where you agree to be someone's "mooch" and accept a package of cigars from them. After agreeing to be their mooch you then post asking who wants to be your mooch and you in turn send a package of cigars to this person.
There are other games going on in the forum including the MAW, and Fun and Games. If you have any questions about the rules feel free to PM a senior member who will give you the rules and inside scoop.

Some Guidelines:
1. It's the thought that counts. Do not be offended at the contents or value of the contents in a package you receive.

2. Games, PIFs or Bombing someone is not the way to get rid of your Swisher Sweets. Use the Golden Rule. Give unto others what you would hope they would give to you.

3. Don't beg to be bombed. It's annoying and look what it got Saddam.

4. Acknowledge when you receive a package. The sender loves to see that happy reaction. Be aware that some people may wish that their package's contents remain classified. Ask before posting any details if you think the person may want the contents kept under-wraps.

5. Been Bombed? Return fire? That is up to you. A Bomb is given freely without the expectation of reward. But do you really want to let them get away hitting you?

6. Send a note. Go ahead and write a little note to the target. Let them know what you are sending them and why you like it.

7. Do not covet your neighbors package. At some point someone else will get cigars from a person who has sent to you. Don't compare. It is silly to feel cheated or jaded because someone else received a package that you would have preferred.

8. Don't use the N-word (Newbie) to describe people who have just started smoking cigars. We were all there at one point. If you are a member of cigar.com you are a Sibling of the Leaf no matter what your experience level.

9. Send what you can. When participating in a game or when bombing someone send what you can. Be aware of rules, i.e. 3 cigar minimum for the PIF, but feel free to send more. However, don't feel guilty if you can only send 3. Everyone else knows the rules and shouldn't be expecting more than the minimum.

10. Pass Participation. If you agree to participate, follow through! Do not agree to participate in a pass and then when it gets to you bail out for any reason. If you don't like the cigars in the pass, buck up princess, thats how it goes sometimes, find the ones you hate the least or that you could give to someoneone you know will like them. If the cigars are too high end for you collection check with the other members of the pass to see how to go about this. It may have been that someone was trying to be generous and it will be ok if you do the best you can to match. However, pay attention to the value of a pass before you agree to be involved.

Q and A:

Q: I begged to be bombed. Does everyone hate me?

A: No, I don't think so. But to be sure bomb someone quick!

Q: I got a cigar in a package that I know I don't like. What do I do?

A: Keep that knowledge to yourself. You can try and smoke the cigar and see if you still don't like it or you can keep it handy in your humi to give to another Sibling of the Leaf who may like it.

Q: I've just started smoking cigars but I want to get in on the games. My Humi selection is kinda lame. What should I do?

A: First of all don't worry. If its a bomb you can return fire now, later or not at all. Remember that Golden Rule? If you like the cigars in your humi, play with those. Send a note saying why you like them. You might be surprised to learn that others may never have tried a cigar in your collection. You can also go to your local B&M and get a few sticks you know the target would like.

Q: I sent a package someone but I forgot to leave a note. What will I do?

A: Relax, you can always send the note when the target has posted their acknowledgment.

Q: I want to bomb XXXXX. But I don't know their address, how can I get it?

A: Ask others who seem to know the target, they may know and keep the secret. If worse comes to worse, just ask the target. It wont be a surprise, but they should still be happy.

Q: Hey! How come they got an Opus X and all I got was Henry Clay?

A: Calm down there buddy. Someone thought of you and sent you some cigars. Be gracious.

Q: Who made you the Etiquette person on Cigar.com?

A: No one. I just like to spell Etiquette.

Q: I have a rash on my ...

A: Whoa! No! Don't tell me, I'm not an MD. Go to a Doctor.

It's a nice stick, but I've ended up smoking it more often than I would otherwise because I got it so cheap. So, I'm just putting this out there for anybody who might be interested:

This is really throwing it out there and I figure the worse someone will say is damn this Mofo is crazy. But looking at the daily deal for today. I jumped on this to weeks ago when they came out with it for the first time. I really like the Titan and the fact that it is in a robusto size instead of a 6.2x56. If you like the other two that its offering of the Shaggy and the Beauty. Would you be willing to do a split. I order five of the samplers, you pay for 2/3 and receive the Beauty and the Shaggy.
