Kinda my opinion on them. I've given most of them away now but kept one for aging. I'll dig it out in a year and see what I think.
Have you tried the #5 Corojo? I haven't had a #3 to compare, but it is supposed to be more full bodied, and I just love 'em.

I'm ok with lakers sticks if everyone else. I'm with urbi, whats a few $25 sticks between friends :).

    I haven't tried the #5.

When the pass hits me, I'll throw one of them on board for ya. I think it's pretty damn good, almost as good as the 3 Siglos, if we're talking Gran Habano.

I just want to add here that like someone else said (Ron?) the sticks may represent a high priced premium... but if you don't pay premium prices then it just makes it possible to give away nice sticks at a great cost savings to yourself.

dutyje I have sent you a PM.

Cool thanks. I've had a 3 Siglos as well, pretty good it didn't blow me away but it was pretty good. Capt swears they're going to be amazing with age so the rest of mine are sitting.

I thought the 3 Siglos was pretty good, but also I felt that it showed potential for being better with some age. So I too will be testing that theory.

Threes a charm Joe, I could not say enough good things about the 3 Siglos that I have had..I wonder if the new G.A.R cigar can top these. Any first hand experience out there?

The G.A.R. is a good cigar right now. They smell sooo good and are getting better the more they sit. I smoked one about a week after getting it and it was ok. I smoked another one about a month after getting them and it really started to open up. I keep staring at my last one thinking that I am going to smoke it soon.

Just wanted to update you all on this. The package arrived at my place a few minutes ago from Doug (laker), so I will be sending it out to Duty on monday. I'll post my takes and puts when I'm ready to pack it up.

    Edit. takes and puts:
Takes: Padron 1926, Gurkha Triple Ligero, Don Tomas Special Edition.
Puts: Perdomo Reserve Cameroon toro, Alec Bradley Ovation cameroon toro, La Flor Dominicana Limitado III toro.

And like I said, this one will be Duty-bound Monday.

Awesome! I can't wait for that (doody) to get here! If someone's really lucky, this will get crossed up with the 1K package I'm about to ship to Sane ;)

Received the pass from Jozer today. The water pillow had leaked sticky over all the cigars (not very much). Looking back on my testing with the water pillows, I think that a perfectly sealed bag (like a ziploc not from cigar.com) creates this situation. I put the cigars in a cigar.com bag with a fresh pillow, so everything should be OK.

Anyway, I had a really hard time figuring out what I wanted to pull from the box. In the end, I let the wrapper make the call (EcSu, of course). Also, I wanted to ensure there was a nice balance of various-bodied sticks. I pulled the Padron Torpedo, Perdomo Reserve Cameroon, and the La Flor Dominicana Limitado III. I put in an Altadis Playboy Robusto, Gurkha G5 Avenger Torpedo, and a Casa Magna Robusto.

This will ship out to Scrambler tomorrow, provided I get his address (how in the WORLD did I not get that already?) Anyway, if someone has an address for Scram, feel free to PM it to me in case he doesn't get on here by tomorrow morning.

Those damn water pillows. The one time I use one when shipping in months, and this is what happens. Hopefully it didn't contaminate the cigars.
  • madurofanmadurofan Posts: 6,219 ✭✭✭
Are we sure he's talking about the water pillow you put in the bag? He could've pulled a Bill/Monica and that would explain the sticky residue left on the cigars. Mrs. Water Pillows ...

The cigars appear to be in good shape.. there was very little sticky Water Pillow (har har) residue on the cellophane of the cigars. The cigars I took out seemed to have been touched the most, and there really just isn't enough to worry about. For a perfectly-sealed ziploc, I honestly think you're fine to ship cigars with no supplemental humidification.

This sounds like exactly the same thing that had happened when the last pass arrived at my door, but I've never had it happen with a ccom shipment. Curious.

Jozer shipped to you in A Pass Part 1. Maybe Jozer has some defective pillows.

Are you suggesting I feel up my own water pillows to look for defects? Curious indeed. :)

I can take care of that for you, if you wish. I have quite a bit of experience in feeling up Water Pillows.

I have a feeling that if you felt Joe's WP's it might be the last time you felt your WP's.

Child Support is expensive nowadays, just so you know.

WTF!!! Postal Service site seems to be having some serious issues this morning.. It kept timing out when I would enter Scram's address... and I got sick of typing it, so I tried to add it to my "address book" and it took three tries before it finally made it in. Now... I keep getting the following error when I try to use Click N Ship:

We're sorry! We were unable to process your request. Please correct the error(s) indicated below: We are unable to find any available service options for this label, please review your label and try again.

Sorry, Scrambler... looks like packages can't get there from here :)

If you guys can find my WP's, let me know, cuz I'm out of the loop on that one. You can feel em, lick em, grope em, just find them dammit, and let me know when you do. :)

Ya know Doody, they have these buildings that you can take a sealed, addressed box to, and for a small fee they will take it from you and get it to the address on the box. Now I know the concept is perhaps a bit strange, and I'll admit that I was taken aback by it myself, but I've since grown to embrace this postal system and their apparent satellite offices and life has gotten much easier.
