Damn Vince how did I not know this .. hmmm this is bringing an interesting idea to my head about kuzipalooza.
Change it to Vinceapalooza and have it at Vince's shop? Much shorter drive for me, maybe 30-45 min. Which means the money I would save in gas, I clearly would have to use to buy some gars for y'all. Something to chew on.
How far is Vince's shop from kuzi and would it still be on duty's way?
about 2.5 hours. i swear vince, i will stop in one day. may not be on the way, but it wouldnt be a bad side trip.

If duty is up for it, would you be up to moving it to Vince's kuzi?

Shoot, that only adds about 1.5 hrs to my total trip time, and none of it on the way from Charlotte to my Friday destination... I'm game for that if y'all wanna change the venue!

ok... so im not trying to to call all of you guys out on this but..

if you look at the Kuzipaluza 08 thread you will see that it wasnt even started by me. I was started as a half joke and then a bunch of people said they were interested and could come.

i quickly changed my schedual, made requests off that are both hard for me to get and hard to change after the fact. I went to a few different shops in the area to try and secure deals so that we could get a discount on cigars.

now again, fairly out of my control, my herf is moving to vince's shop.

im not saying its out of the question. I mean, the good of the Forum and the group majority rules on this one, but if everyone decides to do that instead, i am going to have to bow out. again, this isnt a threat, and this isnt me being mad, or any of that. Its me being unable to change quickly because other obligations.

ill see what i can do, though

It wouldn't be Kuzipalooza without Kuzi... if you can't make it to PA, then I say we keep it where it is.

ill see what i can do. in theory i have no problem with this but i may not know untill the week before because of what my day before and day after look like. If i have to be at work at 6am the next day i wont be there. it maybe to late for me to request the next day off. like i said, ill see what i can do.

and what does vince think of this? eh?

    not pissed.

I just feel that i am being left out of the planning stage of a herf that i have already put time and effort into putting together that bares my name none the less.

im doing my best to make this accessible to as many members as i can, so moving to Vince's shop may be a good move.

since it is his shop it may be a good idea to get his input as well. I dont know why he would turn it down, but it is common courtesy to ask.

i mean, i coulda been like:

Im having a herf on that date. at my local shop. I am not flexible. I am made of stone. if you cant make it or have other ideas then cope.

ill still help put this together but this means that i may not be able to go.

Good Morning, it is Sunday OCT.5,2008... did I say OCT? dammmmmm it is OCT all ready, I am not ready for it yet ! well time marches on & believe it or not we have passed the atuminal equnox & the season has changed from Summer to fall, winter to fallow dammmmm , well its the cycle of life , seams just like yesterday my daughter was in diapers, & here we are , she has 2 boys of her own, Time flys when you are having fun ! the cold snap has driven the stink bugs inside, what a mess, Raid seams to slow them down but dosent kill them on contact, like when you spray a wasp , BAM it falls to the ground in an instant , thses bugs just keep going ,like the energizer bunny..... first freeze they will be gone till spring, , I think I will have the attic fogged & the bathroom exaust fans detoxified , the little buggers come in the exaust fan some how & end up in the light , what a mess ! so lets move on to the VP debate ... OK enough of that ! Globial warming.. ...... yes we have it if it wasnt for global warming I would be sitting in an ICE field right now, the great lakes were formed when the polar ice cap MELTED in the last Ice age , back just a few hundred years the LA basin had smog in it before the white man ever saw the area , so lets not get in to a heated arguement about globial warming & the smog that we are making with INDUSTRY, , this BIG blue ball we live on will take care of it self, ............ here I am in the PITTSBURGH area , over time we have been covered by the polar ice cap & warmed by the tropical waters as remements of palms & ferns have been unearthed here , at one time it was tropical & in an other time it was artic, well if that isnt NATURAL I dont know what is !!!! OK enough BS lets get down to the milk & cookies , Friday Night we hosted a NUB & Oliva event at the shop, it went well for a Football friday night , & we are goint to do it again this comming Friday night with H.Upman maduro & Omar Ortez cigars , & we plan on doing a different tasting every Friday night along with the BYOB party we have every friday, we went through a bottle of single malt & 3 pots of coffee ( just for the customes ) I had ONE all by my self, I drank the good stuff & gave the moochers the Maxwell house .............. half of them wouldnt know a good cup of coffee if it slapped there Momma , adding 3 packs of sugar & a quart of milk to the half cup of coffee , , , , , , , they must be butterlys & taste with thier feet ! Lat week I got a day with my #1 grandson & this week I get grandson #2 , nothing like quality time goofing off with the grandsons , just the 2 of us doing what ever they want to do, I aked #2 where his favorite place to eat was , hoping he would say my place but he said SCHOOL !!!! DAMMMM the ladys in the Barfatouum rated higher than McDonalds Burgherking Wendys or even red lobster, I felt slighted BUT he is only 10 & thinks Mac & cheese comes out of a little blue box ............... I have been bitten by the new car feaver bug, I keep looking BUT dammmmmmmm the prices I have a 2000 Sable with 170K on it , I am getting 20 MPG on it , it is comfortable & PAID FOR ................ wall street ............... I know why they are called brokers, Bail out my stinky ass , 300M people in the USA, Give them all 2 Million bucks each in cash, cost 600 M but NO we got to be socialist about it & bail out the fat cats to the tune of 700 billion or MORE,, hey were was Uncle Sam when Drexel Burnum Lanbert took 950K off of me with the junk bond king Milken , the rotten basted paid a 3 BILLION dollar fine & shut down DBL & spent 18 months at a federial country club & still had 5 Billion in assets in off shore accounts the government never did get any of it.... am I pissed , you betcha On a lighter note I have a nice set of TBONES & some late corn on the cob to go on the grill later today, seams like all we eat on Sunday is beef, , chuck roast in the winter when we can fire up the oven & steak when its time to grill, but the boss is a beef lover so thats what I make her, can you believe it we have been married almost 40 years now & she still wants her beef well done ..... a tuff hunk of leather dry & taste less, when I am slurping down a raer or medium rare juicy hunk of beast , but she will not budge .... my parents were the same way my dad wanted his DONE & my Mother was a rare person (in more ways than one hahaha ) well I grew up seeing both ends of the scale tasting both the rare & the well done, no need telling all of you the outcome is there hahahaha, KNOCK off its horns whip its ass & SERVE it MOOOOOOOOLISHOUS I craced open a few "ISOMS" this week & enjoyed the series D # 4 as well as the Hoya Solomon , both were great smokes but nothing alike the hoya way a much bigger smke but it didnt last that much longer than the smaller series D only about 20 minuts difference in the time of the 2 cigars but at twice the size , , , , , , well I cant say which one was better, like back when I was dating a few different girls , they all were great in Bed hell I was thankfull for anything at that time of my life , being young & dumb & full of .......... you get the idea , well anyway they were all good, who was better, ??? I have no idea , I would have to try them all again today hahahaha , yea like the boss would let that happen hahaha, oh yea I could smoke the cigars agin, , , , but it might still be a toss up on them ! hahaha Not much else going on here in da burgh .... OH *** last night was the 250 anniversery of the incorperation of the city called PITTSBURGH , FIREWORKS , from 17 differnt launch sites in the city, some from the tops of the sky scrapers in the downtown, some from barges in the rivers , from the bridges crossing the 3 rivers in Pittsburgh , a tribute to Fred Rogers & the people who made PITTSBURGH what it is today .. Time for more KNOA & a Don Carlos #3 ...... Enjoy, Vince

I 100% agree with this. It was my fault I brought up this idea, it was just that though an idea. I fully intended for kuzi to make the call on this idea if everyone else agreed on it bc like kuzi said, he's the one doing the leg work here. I just thought if it was possible it would be a cool idea to herf at a shop owned by another member of this forum.

Hey Vince I'll stop by and say hello either on my way out to Cleveland or on the way back. Save me a spot at the table :)

your sopt is saved !! Good morning it is Sunday 12 Oct. 2008, A wonderfull clear cool morning in Da Burgh the grandsons were here AGAIN & playing on the computer, I am having one Hell of a time getting things back to what I want , the size & blodness of the type set, yes I am OLD & cant see the small print so well anymore & they want the littkle print so that they can get more on the page , well it is a constant battle & short of getting them there own computer to use here ( hey now thats a great idea) , yea a used computer from the good will store, puts money in the pockets of Goodwill & gets the kids off this machine & lets me keep my settings as I need them ! Capital Idea , payday I am going shopping, BUT I all ready have a computer in the Qtr.Deck but it is in the shop with a virus , I might just be able to send them out there & let them use it, but then if I want to sit out there with a cigar & do my postings I will have the same problem I am having now, , dammmmmm in this tight econemy I will be going out & spending my hard earnred cash on a third computer, maybe I should just get a laptop for my self & let them pound out the games & BS on this one, , I could take it to work & play solitair , & never have to shuffeelll the cards again hahahaha well it is a great strech of weather we are having here in da Burgh , looks like the prognostacater of the weather channel said we might hit 80F on monday , dammmm time to get out the shorts again , the trees are slowing changing color going from a wonderfull lush green to a golden yellow, orange & RED , it is a beautiful time of the year but then they all fall off the trees & the rake comes out & the blower comes out the leaf grinder comes out & the work starts , but it makes great mulch for the garden , I cant wait till the grandsons are big enough to run the power equipment & let me RETIRE in comfort hahahaha , I started looking at the SR. high rise appitments , but the boss isnt budging on the idea, I was shot down as soon as I mentioned it , going from 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms for the 2 of us to one bedroom & one bathroom is way to much of a down size for her & I kind of like having my own bathroom, I can sit & read all day long if I want ! hahaha We are heading to her sisters today, I get out of cooking & all I need to take is a cheese tray & some crackers, so last night I went to costco & got a few blocks of cheese & now all I need is the cheese cutter , & a jar of spicy brown mustard & a few grapes for garnish & a little time & I will be done, we are having chilie con carne , burgers, dogs & some sausage , I might make a pizza on the grill if I get ambishious & make some dough before we go , but that sounds like a little more work than I want to get into today , BUT it will taste good , dammmm I love the smokey taste of pizza on the grill, but all that work , dammmmm I am in a no win argument with myself, ..... got to think this one out, do I want to eat & share this great pizza with EVERYONE , or do I just forget it & go with out? .................. looks like I will be making a dough ball shortly hahaha I am a slave to my taste buds !!! the shop is feeling the down turn in the stock market the 12/15 bux a stick market has fallen off dramaticly but the 3/5 bux a stck has increased , looks like the amount of sticks per day hasnt changed all that much but the total income is down, looks like a 25cent price increase to keep the profit up is comming hahahaha , BUT we are faced with a NEW 1 % tax , the school in Monaca & Center TWP have merged & Center has a 1% mercantile tax on the gross of the store & since we have been taken over by the TOWNSHIP we are going to get stuck with the tax , well I am looking to sell the building & moving to some place thats a little more tax friendly , well if I start to make cigars there I can be a manufacturing source & exempt of the mercantile tax ............. HUMMMMM sounds like I will be rolling tobacco soon , I cant wait to see the look on the school boards faces when I file for the manufactures exemption , we have a glass plant in town & they do about 30Million a year, well 1% of that would be the 300K that this tax is bringing in now in center twp. will when you add all the shops in down town monaca they are going to tripple the income of the tax so they just exempted the industrial sites & dropped the bomb on all the small guys , the toy shop in town is all ready moving out & one of the insurance agents is getting ready to move if he had to pay 1% of his coverages it would be more than he makes a year . sinc ethe tax is based on gross sales & not income, if he sold a 10 million dollar insurance policy it would cost him 100K in tax, he tells me last year he took home about 70K leaving him about 30K upside down in the tax dept, time to take back the country from the fat cats & let the little guy make a BUCK here & there , I can see why drug deals are so high , NO FRIGGING TAXES PAID ON THE INCOME ! dammmm the POLITICS PISS ME OFF .. I ran out of my home rosted coffee this week at work & stopped at the local grocery store & grabbed a pound of 8 Oclock orginal blend & brewed it up at the shop, every one asked me what happed to my coffee , it was different , no one said if it was better or worse just different ........ time for me to fire up a second pot of Kona this morning that first one was great & the Don Carlos #4 this morning just wasnt enough , so it will be back to the number 3 Monday morning, I do have a nice old contraband monte corona for after the chili this afternoon, made a little Basil Hayden to go with it , I had a weee dram of it Thursday night , not near as sweet as Knob creek & I like that a lot better , bourbon is just way to sweet for me , not that I dont drink it on occasion but I would rather have a Laugavulin single malt, but the basil want bad at all, .............. Enjoy, Vince

I've always wanted to try pizza on the grill, do you need anything special. (like a pizza stone?) Is it the same recipe as homemade pizza in the oven?
