I was sitting in the Qtr.Deck, when the big blow hit, the power went out & I was stuck in there as I wasnt able to see the door hahahaha , the music stopped & the wind howled, I did get the windows closed before any damage was done , I had a Full mug of coffee, a bottle of single malt & 2 , 3 finger pocket keepers both full & I had a fine double corona from Uncle fidel in my hand , My wife was at the daughters baby sitting the grandsons, I didnt go as I most always do but she was ready to go before I was & I told her just go with out me , so she did , that gave me the evening all to my self, I ended up out there most of the night , but it was a TUFF day at work on Monday , not much sleep & a fair amount of single malt ! & no power at the shop, it was back on before the day was over , but I didnt get any power at home for a few days , it wasnt much fun !

we got it here down the road too. just a few branches down. nothing serious. A few houses had some damage down the street but nothing on my block.

work was bad for me though the next few days. We had power and a lmost nobody around us did. everyone needed food because their fridges had all thawed and food was spoiled. we were open. we doubled out usual monday and tuesday sales. I was worn out but i made some good money. love the OT!

OH well it is Cool & rainy this morning & Sept is almost over , the election BS is in full swing & I did listen to the canidates for a few minutes Friday Night , who won? well the American People DID NOT WIN , if this is the best we have to offer............. well I have listened to a bunch of 10 & 12 year olds who didnt wine about each other & carry on better conversations than McCain & Obama ............... But I did catch a little blurb on the radio last night that we should all smoke one for Paul Numan ,,,,,,,,, Cool Hand LUKE , Butch Cassidy the STING , RIP PAUL. I have a nice pair of T Bones for the grill this afternoon, & a sweet potato to grill right along with themjust a little herb rub for the beef & olive oil for the spuds , add a little heat & soon a wonderfull meal will be on the table the shop was busy but the sales are slower this month than we were hoping for but we have started to load up for the Holiday season, lets just hope that wall street rebounds & Main street gets a lift ........OR ...... Vince I wish I had somethign for you on the stink bugs. I hate those things! Never heard anything that works on them damn things. As far as your political rant .... agreed.

I had a SUnday morning smoke myself, sat out on the back deck with a Sol Cubano Maduro and the paper. I might do this more often. It was great to read the paper and relax with a good stick. It was much milder than I expected and wasn't a great cigar but it was pretty good. I'd call it a medium bodied stick with a lot of woodsy and oak flavors. Enjoyable but not great ...

Good Luck with the stinkers Vince.

that is a nice stick for the sunday paper, I havent read anything in our local rag other than the funnies for a long time, the editor is a regular customer & we beat him up every week when he shows up, he is a good sport about it & he has a classic Mustang rag top we tell him show some balls on the editorial page & dont sugar coat the local political coruption that is going on, but I guess they spend a lot of money advertising so he dosent want to kill the golden calf ! well I did find a web site for an exterminator that has a spray, but 20 bucks for a 14 ounce can, dammmmm, I hit one bug with a direct shot of raid & it flew away, dont know when or if it killed it, hit a wasp with the stuff, BAM, right to the ground, well its back to the fly swatter hahahaha

It was a really good stick fro the paper, I don't know if I'd enjoy it in a different scenario but it was good for this one.

I tend to stay away from the political pages in our paper. I read the Sports section and the funnies. I also read some really cool articles that were just world observation pieces, nothing political, just interesting stuff. kept me happy.

Damn thats a lot of money for some bug killer, especially if i didn't work.

pyrethrum will kill 'em... but I'm not sure if it does anything about the eggs... Lots of weeds or a garden near the house maybe?

pyrethrum itself is cheap, but you'll want a good fogger... If you can find someplace to rent one it can probably be done cheap... Otherwise a lower end fogger will probably run you around $100...

If nothing else, just eat 'em... Apparently they make a great source of nutrition... LMAO!

Change it to Vinceapalooza and have it at Vince's shop? Much shorter drive for me, maybe 30-45 min. Which means the money I would save in gas, I clearly would have to use to buy some gars for y'all. Something to chew on.
