overview

From Cuban cigar master Arnaldo Gonzalez.

The favored 90 Miles line from Flor de Gonzalez has a new size, and it's called 1980 Edition. This substantial 6”x60 vitola is the ideal addition to the family, and is sure to become just as popular as the previous options.

Flor de Gonzalez was started in 1993 in Cuba, and moved production to Florida following the rise of the communist regime. Consistently ranked among the top cigar producers in the industry, this manufacturer has enjoyed much success in the U.S. market. Now, most of the production comes from Nicaragua, with a small number of cigars still hailing from Miami. Company founder Arnaldo Gonzalez still runs the whole operation, and has been teaching his youngest daughter, Yadi, all the ins and outs of cigar making.

90 Miles 1980 is the third release for the brand, and many agree that it's the best one of the bunch. Creamy, sweet, and highly aromatic, it's a joy to smoke, and the even burn and fantastic construction are just icing on the cake. Each one comes draped in an exquisite Mexican San Andres wrapper leaf, which conceals a core of Nicaraguan and Dominican ligero and a Connecticut-seed binder. Medium to full in body, this expertly rendered handmade starts out slow and gradually builds in intensity over the course of the experience, with a noticeable difference occurring right around the halfway point. Earth, nuts, sweetness, and creaminess caress the palate. Don't miss out on this one!
