overview

A tribute to the banker who started it all.

During the 1840s, Herman Upmann traveled to Cuba with the express mission of crafting a cigar fit to distribute to his most prestigious banking clients. Unfortunately, the resulting blend of this journey was lost to a bank fire in the 1920s. Now rediscovered and re-blended to replicate the original as closely as possible by using all Cuban-seed tobaccos, H. Upmann The Banker is reminiscent of old style cigars.

The Banker is medium to full-bodied and includes moments of bold spice and a pleasant creaminess. It is comprised of a dark and oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Jalapa binder, and a vintage blend of long-fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican. Earthy undertones are met with a distinct toastiness, and the construction is impeccable. One taste and it's easy to see why this particular selection made its way through the leagues of the elite.
