Gran Habano earned an excellent reputation with its portfolio of exotic and refined blends. Case in point: Gran Habano Azteca Fuerte.
Just outside of Danli, Honduras - in the neighboring town of El Pariaso (the paradise) - is a small factory owned by the Rico family. Father and son, George and Guillermo Rico, are well known in the cigar industry for making exceptional quality cigars. Enthusiasts are most familiar with their original Gran Habano line, which took the stage in 2007.
Azteca Fuerte comes teeming with flavor and a double maduro wrapper/binder combination that exudes rich, chocolaty flavors. But these aren’t any standard maduro leaves; these are San Andres Mexican maduro leaves, which means they also pack a punch of spice on the finish. Did I mention the fillers? This blend features a core of Nicaraguan and Panamanian fillers that provide an excellent foundation for the maduro wrapper/binder combination. The folks at Gran Habano then dress this gorgeous cigar up in a fantastic cedar sleeve, making this blend perfect for aging.
